Introduction ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Welcome to my guide for Sailor Moon! This side-scrolling game was pretty popular back in the good old days. It's challenging and fun at the same time. You'll find this game fun too, but it does get tougher as you move on with the levels. This game was the re-make of the original Sailor Moon game for the SNES. And just like its predecessor, this game takes place during the first season of Sailor Moon. However, this version for the Sega Genesis is much better in terms of sharper graphics and better audio. It made a release 1 year after its SNES version. One downside to this game is that there is no 2-PLAYER mode, which makes things difficult for you. Although it can be beaten as a single player, the game is still difficult enough for a 2-PLAYER requirement. But having no choice in the matter, we must accept the 1-PLAYER mode. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ III. About this game ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ This game first came out on July 8th, 1994. As you know, this game is very old now and finding it is NOT easy. If you own a legitimate copy of this game, then consider yourself lucky. But if you only have the ROM version of this game, then that's okay. Even though ROMS are illegal, this game only came out in Japan and was not distributed anywhere else outside of Japan. This guide is produced from the original Japanese version of the game. If you want to play this game but don't know where to get it, then send me an email. You'll need an emulator inorder to run the game. So I suggest getting an emulator called "Gens". Go to www.google.com to download it. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ IIII. The story ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ A thousand years ago, there was a place called the Moon Kingdom, where the Silver Millennium existed. It was a very peaceful time, full of happiness and lack of danger. The Moon Kingdom was under the rule of Queen Serenity. Queen Serenity had a daughter named Princess Serenity. One day the Princess met a Prince from Earth named Endymon and the two fell in love. They were soon to marry but suddenly, there was a massive attack on the Moon Kingdom by a evil queen named Beryl. The peace was utterly shattered by Beryl and her minions, and the Moon Kingdom was forever destroyed. Queen Serenity had managed to defeat Queen Beryl and her troops by using the full extent of the Ginzuishou. By doing so, the Queen was dying. With little energy left, Queen Serenity used the Ginzuishou once more to send Princess Serenity, Prince Endymon, the Sailor Senshi, and everyone else to the 20th century, a time where peace will be restored. But with Queen Beryl and her minions still alive, the Sailor Senshis are called forth by guardian cats named Luna and Artemis and it's up to them to defend Earth from evil doers. "On behalf of the Moon, I will punish you!" ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ V. How to play ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ If you are playing this game on an emulator, I will list the standard controls. But if you, by any chance, actually have this game then I'll also list the Genesis controls. Keyboard: ========= Left, right, up, down = Directional pad A = Punch S = Jump D = Super move Enter = Pauses game Controller: ========== Left, right, up, down = Directional pad A = Punch B = Jump C = Super move Start = Pauses game ------ | |================ X5 | |================ <===Health bar | | ------ <==== Your character's avatar. If getting damaged, it will be in motion. Legend: X5 = Number of lives you have remaining ~*~*~*~*~ VI. Tips ~*~*~*~*~ Here are a few good tips when you are playing the game: - Do NOT let yourself get cornered. This is foremost because getting cornered by a gang of enemies, without doing something quick, means you will lose a life. Keep pounding your enemies without letting them push you into a corner. Always stay near the center and pick off the enemies like that. - While pressing left or right, press the jump button to do a flip. Press the Punch button immediately once you're in the air to do a jump kick, which is very effective on taking out slow enemies or enemies that jump mid-air. - After performing a flip, press the down button then press punch to do a jump punch. This maneuever is not as effective as the jump kick, but still useful in some cases. - Hold the Punch button until your character starts glowing. Let go of the button and your character will perform her favourite technique (i.e. Moon Tiara Action). This is effective when fighting large groups of enemies. You can damage more than one enemy using this maneuver. - If too many enemies are close to you, get rid of them using the super move. Although it whittles your health down a bit, it can be worth it. Especially in boss fights. - ***Special tip contributed by Endymion***: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hit the A button when close to an enemy. Just before the fifth hit, stop bashing A for just half a second then resume hitting A again. If done correctly, your character will start her combo again which will leave the enemy trapped to the combo until he/she is dead! Pause after every four hits to repeat this endless cycle. Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, and Sailor Mars can perform this strategy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ - If you are playing this game on an emulator, then you should know what Save State and Load State is, right? F5 is to save state and F8 is to load the state you just saved. This is very useful, especially when you're in tight spots. You can just keep saving state and load state to make a situation more advantageous. If you own this game for real, then good luck. You're going to need it. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ VII. Characters ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ ~*Sailor Moon~* ----------- Real name: Usagi Tsukino Name meaning: "Bunny of the Moon" Birthday: June 30 Horoscope: Cancer Blood type: O Hobby: Eating cake -Moves-: Hold down the punch button, then let go = Moon Tiara Action Down + Up + A button = Supersonic Attack Double tap Left or Right + Jump = Super jump Double tap Left or Right + Jump + Punch = Super jump kick Go near an opponent = grab an opponent. Press punch to headbutt them, or press any directional pad then press punch to toss them. Super move = Moon Healing Halation (C button) Comment: A popular choice. Her super move is quite useful, as it can hit a group of enemies. But Sailor Moon's punch attack might have a flaw, as some enemies can avoid it and attack her back. But her grapple move is pretty cool. Overall, she's not a bad choice for beginners. ~*Sailor Mercury*~ -------------- Real name: Ami Mizuno Name meaning: "Friend of Water" Birthday: September 10 Horoscope: Virgo Blood type: A Hobby: Chess, reading -Moves-: Hold down the punch button, then let go = Shabon Spray Shabon Uppercut = Forward, down, forward, punch (A button) Forward slide kick = Tap A next to an enemy. Just before the 5th or 6th hit, hold the forward button (depending on which way you are facing the enemy/ies) Double tap Left or Right + Jump = Super jump Double tap Left or Right + Jump + Punch = Super jump kick Go near an opponent = grab an opponent. Press punch to slam them on the ground, or press any directional pad then press punch to toss them. Super move = Sweep (C button) Comment: Her attacks are pretty fast and she can hit pretty well. Her grab moves are cool too. But becareful, because just like Sailor Moon, Mercury has the same flaw when her punch attack is being overused. Grappling your opponent then tossing them around is the way to go for Mercury, as it is for Sailor Moon most of the time. Overall, Mercury is a cool choice for beginners. ~*Sailor Mars*~ ----------- Real name: Rei Hino Name meaning: "Spirit of Fire" Birthday: April 17 Horoscope: Aries Blood type: AB Hobby: Reading, fortune telling -Moves-: Hold down the punch button, then let go = Fire Soul Down + Forward + Up + A button = Hurricane Punch Double tap Left or Right + Jump = Super jump Double tap Left or Right + Jump + Punch = Super jump kick Go near an opponent = grab an opponent. Press punch to knee kick them, or press any directional pad then press punch to flip them over. Super move = Handstand spiral kick (C button) Comments: Mars' jump kick attack is ok. Her special attack is pretty good. Mars' punch attack is short-ranged, so becareful how you use it. You'll have to go real close to enemies with the kind of punch she has, which makes her sort of a complex character to use. Overall, Mars is just an OK choice but not in deserving for beginners. ~*Sailor Jupiter*~ -------------- Real name: Makato Kino Name meaning: "Wisdom of Trees" Birthday: December 5 Horoscope: Sagittarius Blood type: O Hobby: Cooking, shopping -Moves-: Hold down the punch button, then let go = Supreme Thunder Forward + Up + Down + A = Ground pound Grab opponent + A button and QUICKLY spin directional pad clockwise/counter-clockwise before letting go of enemy = Extension Throw (^ great move; uses a grabbed enemy as a weapon to hit other enemies foolish enough to come close to Jupiter) Double tap Left or Right + Jump = Super jump Double tap Left or Right + Jump + Punch = Super jump kick Go near an opponent = grab an opponent. Press punch to toss them, or press any directional pad then press punch to pick them up and slam them on the ground. Super move = Tornado (C Button) Comments: Jupiter's punch button is actually a kick. She seems to be the only character who cannot do a jump flip, and her jump kick attack is basically a full-body kick. Jupiter's Tornado is not that great but it can take out multiple enemies indefinetely. Her grab attack is really awesome though. Overall Jupiter is okay but, just like Mars, not good for a beginner's choice. ~*Sailor Venus*~ ------------ Real name: Minako Aino Name meaning: "Messenger of Love" Birthday: October 22 Horoscope: Libra Blood type: B Hobby: Playing, chasing idols -Moves-: Hold punch + full power meter = Crescent Beam Double tap Left or Right + Jump = Super jump Double tap Left or Right + Jump + Punch = Super jump kick Earth Direct Throw = Up, down, forward, punch (A button); Has to be done in close-range Go near an opponent = grab an opponent. Press punch to flip-toss them over, or press any directional pad then punch to flip them over. Super move = Chain spin attack (C button) Comments: Venus is the best choice for beginners in my opinion. She uses a chain when you press the punch button and it is very well-ranged. Her jump kick is good too. Make sure you don't overuse her jump kick by the way, because it CAN be easily countered by some enemies. Overall, Venus is a great choice and is strongly recommended for beginners to select on their first playthrough. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ VIII. Title screen ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ If you're playing it on Japanese version (and actually own the game), but can't read the text, I'll display what it shows: Pretty Soldier Sera Muun (Sailor Moon) 1 PLAYER START OPTIONS Yes, unfortunately this newer version of the original SNES version is actually one-player. So it'll have to be a solo-effort without the aid of a friend. A) 1-Player ======== Selecting this will start the story mode of the game. You will be playing solo, which makes the game a bit difficult (depending on the difficulty you're playing under). You pick one of the 5 Sailor Senshi (Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus) to play as and start the game off. B) Options ======= Most likely if you're playing the Japanese version of the game (and if you own it), chances are you're staring cluelessly at a language that cannot be read. Below I have taken a screenshot of the Options menu to give you a clear and brief explanation regarding its aspects: http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/3773/sailormoon000ap7.png The first option that you see is the difficulty of the game. It is set under the Normal difficulty by default. You can change the difficulty level to Easy by pressing right. Press left to set the difficulty to Hard. The second option is the number of continues you want. This means that if you lose all your lives, you have chances to try redeeming your defeat. But if you lose all your continues, then it's truly game over for you. You can set up to 7 continues, which is HIGHLY recommended for this game. The third option is where you can test the background music. There are 31 different types of background musics. To test them out, press the A button. The fourth option is where you can test the sound effects. There are 29 different types of sound effects. Just like the background musics, press the A button to test them out. The fifth option is where you can test out the voice clips. There are 40 different types of clips. Like the background musics and sound effects, press the A button to test out the voice clips. And finally the sixth option is to exit the menu screen and go back to the title screen. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ IX. Walkthrough ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ -NOTE-: Unlike its predecessor, this game allows you to beat all the levels if you play on EASY mode. For the newcomers, playing in EASY mode will give them a good training before they take on Normal or Hard. -NOTE-2: If you play on HARD mode, and defeat the final boss, then there will be one bonus boss available for you to face. You'll unlock a different kind of ending if you beat that bonus boss. Choose your character and let's get on with it! I will give you the play-by-play as you follow the walkthrough. Also I would like to note that the game was played on the Normal difficulty. ======= |Stage 1| ======= ------ |Area 1| ------ Go forward and a punching goon will appear. It's easy to kill these guys if they are single (sometimes difficult if facing more than one). Use your punch/grab attacks to kill it. When it's killed destroy the phone booth that you see, then destroy the two construction signs before moving on. You'll see a cake that restores a lot of health if you pick it up. You should still have full health, so don't pick it up yet until you have killed the two punching goons that will appear. Don't let them corner you. Use jump kicks to keep them away and kill them with punches. After killing the punchers, two axe-blade goons will appear. They are not hard to kill either, so just kill them the same way you did the punchers. After they are killed, pick up the cake to restore health then move on. You will see a soda pop that restores health, as well as two model sculptures that break out of their windows to ambush you. Use punches or grabs to kill them both. After killing them two punching goons will appear, so you know what to do. Quickly pick up the soda pop (if you need it) before the scene switches over. ------ |Area 2| ------ You are inside an elevator and you have to survive the wave of enemies long enough until the lift takes you to the top. Don't worry too much though, because the enemies are easy to kill here since you can just throw them off the lift. The first wave will arrive. It is a rolling goon. Use your grab attack to throw him off the elevator. The second wave will arrive. They are two punching goons and two rolling goons (who will arrive shortly after the punchers). Quickly use your grab attack to throw the punchers off before throwing off the rolling goons. The third wave will be just a rolling goon, so throw him off. The fourth wave will be two punching goons, so repeat the process. The fifth wave will be two rolling goons, so repeat again. The sixth wave will be just a rolling goon, so you know what to do. The seventh wave will be two more punchers. I don't need to repeat myself over again, so do what you've been doing so far. The eighth wave will be two more rolling goons. The ninth wave will be a single rolling goon. The tenth wave will be two punching goons. The eleventh wave will be two more rolling goons. The twelveth wave will be another rolling goon. The thirteenth wave will be two punching goons and three rolling goons. And finally the fourteenth wave will be two punching goons and two rolling goons. If you survived all the waves without getting hurt that much, my congratulations. ------ |Area 3| ------ Now you are at the rooftop, where you will face your first boss in the game. After some talk between your character and the goon, Tuxedo Kamen will drop a red rose (which fully restores health) in front of the boss and give some encouragement to your character. When all is said and done, the fight will begin. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ BOSS FIGHT: Super Goon +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ A VERY EASY boss battle this is. And that is to be expected since we are just starting out this game. This goon is barely a challenge for you (depends on if you know what you're doing). This boss has 3 moves: a punch attack, a rushing punch, and a smoke attack. And all 3 of them are easy to avoid. Try not to pick up Tuxedo Kamen's red rose, so that you have a decent chance of getting an "A" letter grade after finishing the boss off. Just walk away from the boss and he will start following you. When he's not expecting it, go up to him and give him your punches/grab attacks. After he gets back up from the ground, just repeat this strategy until he is defeated. Try using the super jump kick if you get the chance. You should hardly lose any health in this boss fight. But for some reason if you are losing, you can pick up Kamens red rose to fully restore health. I'm sure you'll do fine. Level complete. You will now be graded by Tuxedo Kamen. Depending on how long it took for you to beat a boss, how much health you had left, and how yours attacks were utilized, Kamen will judge all that. The highest grade to earn is ofcourse an "A". The lowest would have to be an "F", which is a letter grade A LOT of people just HATES >_> But fortunately, this boss battle was easy enough for you to atleast earn a C. But if you got A, congratulations! ======= |Stage 2| ======= ------ |Area 1| ------ Move forward and two punching goons will appear. DO NOT fight them while standing on the top train track. Fight them either on the middle or the bottom track. Or if you have good timing, stay on the top until the train arrives then quickly move out of the way so that the train will hit the punchers instead (although it won't kill them in one shot). After defeating them, two axe-blade goons will appear so deal with them like you did the punchers. After killing them, move a bit forward to find a restoration item. Pick it up if you need it, or save it for later. Two punchers and an axe-blade goon will appear. First of all, do not fight them on the top track because a train is on its way. Secondly, don't let them corner you. Use jump kicks to keep them away, then finish them off using usual tactics. Once they're gone, pick up the restoration item then move on. Two axe-blade goons and a puncher will arrive. This time, stay away from the middle train track. Or you could just wait for the train to come and quickly move away so that it'll end up hitting the goons instead. Kill them all, then move on. A puncher, an axe-blade, and a rolling goon will appear. Once again, either stay away from the middle track or wait for the train to appear so that it'll hit the goons. Kill one or more of the goons (making sure they don't corner you) and a rolling goon will appear. Kill the remaining enemies, then move on. Pick up the ice cream sundae to restore health as you move on. 2 jumping goons will appear and you will also notice a fan on the bottom track. Wait for the train to pass by, then pick up the fan. Make sure you have this fan for the duration of this level because it is EXTREMELY useful, as it does heavy damage on enemies. Watch out for the jumper goon's jump kicks and blow them away using your powerful fan. After taking out the jumpers, an axe-blade goon and a rolling goon will appear. Just like you killed them jumpers, kill these goons using the fan. Once they're gone, two more rolling goons will appear, as well as an axe-blade goon. Use the powerful fan again to wipe them out. Another axe-blade goon will appear, so kill it. Now move on. You'll see a Sailor Moon doll that gives you a 1UP! First kill the two axe-blade goons, then pick up the doll. Now comes a hard part: two VERY annoying clown goons. They just love to kick you around and they dive a lot. Try to avoid their attacks and use the fan to kill them both. I know this is easier said than done, but just concentrate and you'll kill them both. The scene will switch over after both of them are gone. ------ |Area 2| ------ Before moving forward, pick up your fan that is on the left side of the screen (you should notice it anyway). Now move forward. Two axe-blade goons and a punching goon will appear. Sweep them away using the powerful fan. Once they're gone, a solo puncher will appear so blow him away. Once he's gone, move on. Two jumpers will appear and you will notice a pastry on the ground that restores some health. Wipe out the jumpers first, then pick up the cake. Destroy the chocolate wall that is blocking you inorder to move on. A rolling goon and two punching goons will appear, so take them out. After that, another rolling goon will appear so kill it. Now move on. You'll see a ice cream sundae on the floor. Don't pick it up yet until you have wiped out the two axe-blade goons and the rolling goon. After killing the three, a puncher will appear so take him out. Now pick up the sundae, then move on. A jumping goon, a rolling goon, and a punching goon will appear. Avoid the jumper's jump kicks and the roller's rolls, then take them out with your fan. Take out the next punching goon that will appear. After it's gone, two more punchers and an axe-blade goon will appear. Destroy them with your powerful fan. We're very big "fans" of our enemies now, aren't we? XD! After taking those guys out, another axe-blade and puncher will appear. Take them out, then move on. Before breaking down the chocolate wall that's blocking you, take out the rolling goon and the two axe-blade goons first. After taking them out, a puncher will appear so kill him. Now break down the chocolate wall to proceed. Now you'll encounter two rolling goons and a clown goon. Carefully dodge their attacks and take them out. After doing so, move on. Break down the final chocolate wall that is blocking you and move forward to face the next boss, Jaedite! After some talk, Kamen will drop a red rose. Then the fight will begin. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- BOSS FIGHT: Jaedite +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Jaedite's attacks are kicks, jump kicks, a torpedo-styled tackle. Watch out for the torpedo because it can be unpredictable, but not difficult to avoid. Jaedite is not really hard. Apply the same strategy you used against the first boss: keep away from him until the time is right to attack. Try not to pick up the red rose if you want better chances of getting an "A" letter grade. You still have the powerful fan at your disposal, making this fight a joke. It will take out a LOT of Jaedite's health, so keep using it. If you get the chance, use your character's special attack (by holding down the A button). You shouldn't lose any health at all in this fight. Level complete. You will now be graded by Tuxedo Kamen. I got an "A" on this fight and I hope you did too. If not, then keep on practicing =/ ======= |Stage 3| ======= ------ |Area 1| ------ This stage is a new change. Instead of moving on from one place to another like in the previous levels, you have to move from one moving truck (that is across from you) to another while defeating enemies as they come. And ofcourse the trucks are moving, so you'll have to cross from one truck to another at a certain timing. The good news is you can't fall off the moving trucks. Enemies will come from either the bottom moving truck or the top. I shouldn't have to give you a walkthrough for this area since it's pretty straight forward and self-explanatory. Just defeat the enemies until the scene switches over. There is one problem with this stage. And that is you do not have enough space to kill the enemies. So keep constantly moving from one truck to another to give yourself more space so you can kill the enemies. You are not being timed on this mission, so take your time. BTW, there are newer enemies now for you to face, like an enemey with horns (which are VERY annoying), and that super goon boss you faced in the first level (now has the health of a typical goon). Although I'm not giving you a walkthrough for this part, I CAN provide you a list of the enemies that will appear. They are as follows: 1) A jumping goon 2) A jumping goon and a goon with horns 3) A punching goon and a rolling goon 4) A super goon and an axe-blade goon 5) A jumping goon and a goon with horns 6) A clown goon ------ |Area 2| ------ Go forward and you will step on a platform that will elevate you to an upper level. Two punching goons and an axe-blade goon will appear. Use jump kicks to keep them away from you and usual tactics to finish them off. After killing those 3, another axe-blade goon will appear for you to kill. After it's gone, go over to the left side of a screen where you will see a Sailor Moon doll. Pick it up to receive a 1UP! After picking it up, go right to move on. You'll soon step on a platform that will elevate you to a lower level. Move forward and you will be ambushed by an axe-blade goon and 2 rolling goons. Take them out, then 2 axe-blade goons and a rolling goon will appear for you to kill. After killing them, it will just be a sole axe-blade goon (although a rolling goon might appear), so defeat it. When you're done, move on. Once again, you will step on a platform that will take you to an upper level. A punching goon and a hammer goon will appear. Try to take out the hammer goon first before contending with the puncher. Your health might be low at this point, so try to fight them carefully. After taking them out, 2 axe-blade goons will come for you to defeat. After defeating them, an axe-blade goon and a rolling goon will appear for you to kill. After killing them, a rolling goon and an axe-blade goon will appear. Defeat them, then move on. You will step on a platform that will take you to a lower level. Go forward and two axe-blade goons will appear for you to kill. After they're gone, two punching goons will appear for you to kill. When they are defeated, move on to face the next boss! After some talk, Tuxedo Kamen will make his usual appearence (after dropping the red rose), then you will face Nephrite! +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- BOSS FIGHT: Nephrite +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- You probably have low health at this point, so it would be wise to pick up the red rose for full health (that is if you don't care about getting a good letter grade). Nephrite's attacks are punches, a dashing punch, and kick attacks. He runs A LOT, so trying to hit him might be difficult. But he is not really a tough boss. Just apply the same strategy you have been using against the previous bosses. I know I'm repeating myself here, but that's how it works for beating the bosses in this game. Try to stay away from Nephrite and he will run after you. When he does, quickly either grab attack him or use a couple of your punch combos. It's a bit tedious to avoid his jump kicks, so you'll have to have good eyes inorder to evade them. Try not to use your special move, as that will lower your health further (in which case you will be prone to OHKOs and making things a lot easier for Nephrite). Just keep it up with that strategy and you will win. Level complete. You will now be graded by Tuxedo Kamen. I got a C, which is average! ======= |Stage 4| ======= You will see a heart that will restore a bit of your health. DO NOT pick it up yet, since you will be needing it after clearing out the enemies. An axe-blade goon and a rolling goon will appear. Fortunately for you, this is a big area so you can move around freely and have more space to deal with the enemies. After taking those two out, 2 jumping goons will appear for you to kill. After killing them, go pick up the heart to restore some health, then move on up. A clown goon and a horn goon will appear. It will be hard taking them out since this time you have limited space and they can get some good hits on you. You can always move away from the ramp you are fighting on and go back to the wide space for an easier time to kill them. After defeating them both, keep on moving up. The same pair of goons will appear and you will see a <---------------> CAUTION blinking on the screen. That's your cue to move quickly to the left side to avoid the incoming rolling carpet-thingie. If you have good timing, you can narrowly avoid the carpet and it'll end up hitting the goons instead. Take out the goons carefully, since this time you can't move down to the wide-space anymore. After they are defeated, keep moving up. You are finally on the top and have much more space to contend with the goons. Pick up the big red heart to fully restore your health, then move right. A horn goon, a punching goon, and an axe-blade goon will appear. Since you have a lot of space, use jump kicks to keep them away from you and usual tactics to finish them off. After they are gone, 2 rolling goons and a punching goon will appear for you to kill next. When they are defeated, two axe-blade goons will appear for you to kill. After they are gone, move on up the slope again. You will see another <---------------> blinking on the screen. CAUTION This time, move to the far right of the screen until the huge carpet rolls by. After that, that same pair of goons (clown and horn) will appear for you to kill. Once again, becareful when fighting them because you have limited space. When they are gone, keep moving up and you will now face the next boss. Tuxedo Kamen will not appear this time, so you'll have to face this boss with whatever amount of health you have remaining. After some talk, the fight against Zoicite will begin AFTER she instantly transforms herself into a fake Sailor Moon! +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- BOSS FIGHT: Fake Sailor Moon (Zoycite) +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Yup, this is the boss fight. You're up against a wannabe Sailor Moon who is actually one of the 4 negaverse generals, Zoycite, posing as her. What's interesting is that *Sailor Moon* seems to have the same kind of jump kick attack like the real Sailor Moon (if you are playing as her that is). She loves to jump kick and loves jumping a lot too, making it hard for you to attack her. If you chose Sailor Moon as your character, then this fight is rather easy. Just match your opponent's moves with your moves. Even though the imposter seems to possess most of Sailor Moon's fighting skills, you can still outsmart her. Just stay away from her and wait for your chance to attack. Once you find the right moment, nail *Sailor Moon* with grabs, punches, etc. If you're not playing as Sailor Moon, then it's still an easy fight. Stay away from *Sailor Moon* and wait for the right moment to attack. Punches, jump kicks, grab attacks, they all work on this imposter. Just try to avoid her jump kicks and keep away from her until you find the right moment to attack. There is one VERY easy way to finish this imposter off without losing much health. All you have to do is knock *Sailor Moon* down at a corner. While the imposter is down, hold down the punch button until the power meter is fully charged. When *Sailor Moon* gets back up, let go of the punch button to use your character's projectile attack. This WILL hit Zoycite and she won't be able to avoid it. As soon as she falls on the ground, repeat the process of holding down punch and when she gets back up, let go of it and it will hit her. Repeat this and you will win. Level complete. This time, you will not be graded by Tuxedo Kamen. Instead, you will be directly sent to the next level (with your health fully restored, ofcourse). ======= |Stage 5| ======= At the start of the level, pick up the Sailor Moon doll to receive a 1UP! Go forward and you will be ambushed by a rolling goon, two jumping goons, and an axe-blade goon. Jump kick them so that they cannot ambush you and use regular tactics to finish them off. After taking them out, two rolling goons and two axe-blade goons will appear. After they are gone, 2 jumping goons will appear. Dispose of the, then move on. Four axe-blade goons will appear. Now things are getting tougher since you have higher chances of getting cornered by enemies and it's a bit tough taking out so many at the same time. Use jump kicks to keep them away and usual punch/grab combos to defeat them. When they are all defeated, move on. There is a big heart item that will fully restore your health. Pick it up if you are low on health, otherwise save it for later. Two annoying hammer goons will appear, so deal with them. When they are gone, move on. Now you will encounter a super goon and two rolling goons. Now you're in for a tough time, as these guys are REALLY annoying. Try to take out the super goon before dealing with the rollers. Use jump kicks as usual to keep them away from you. The grab attack really helps here, so try to use it as much as you can. After you have defeated them, move on. Two axe-blade goons and 2 rolling goons will ambush you. Take them out using methods you've been using so far. After they are gone, move on. Two punching goons and a hammer goon will confront you. You will see a heart on the very right of the screen (but can't move to that screen yet). You can, however, pick up the heart since one part is showing. If you don't need health just yet, then wipe out the goons first. Once they are taken care of, move on (pick up the heart if you didn't do so). Two horn goons will ambush you. These guys are a pain. Do your best to avoid their dashing horn attacks, and that annoying hand trick they use on you. Once you have defeated them, move on. You will see a wall that is blocking your way, so you have to QUICKLY break it down. The reason why you have to do this quickly is because the floors that you walked over is starting to break up by the lava. You should be able to break the wall down in time, before the lava has the chance to incinerate you. After breaking down the wall you will be facing the next boss, Kunzite! Once again, Tuxedo Kamen will not make his appearence, so no red rose. However, there is a big red heart that will fully restore your health if you need it. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- BOSS FIGHT: Kunzite +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Kunzite is a difficult boss and I will try to do my best to help you defeat him. Kunzite fires bommerang projectiles at you, which are not hard to avoid. The only problem is that it's difficult to predict whether he's going to use that move or not. It doesn't do too much damage however. You should apply the same boss strategy: keep moving around and wait for the moment to attack. Punches and grab combos work wonders on him. Kunzite also performs punches of his own, so be careful not to stay near him for too long. Kunzite has a very agile jump kick, which might be hard for you to avoid. He's likely to use that move to counter your jump kick. So just stick to using punches and grabs. Remember to stay away from him and wait for the right moment to attack. Good luck! Level complete. You will finally be graded by Tuxedo Kamen. I got a B! Now get ready for the final stage in the game! ======= |Stage 6| ======= ------ |Area 1| ------ Pick up the shining crystal on the ground. This will increase your health bar by 25%. Very useful, especially now that we are at the last level in the game. Go forward and two punching goons will appear. After taking them out, two axe-blade goons will appear. Defeat them, then move on. Two jumping goons and two axe-blade goons will ambush you. Utilize your jump kick here to keep them away from you, then kill them all. After eliminating them, move on. You will see a snack that will restore a lot of your health, but don't pick it up yet until you have cleared the enemies. Two jumping goons and two punching goons will ambush you. Repeat what you have been doing so far. After killing them, pick up the item then move on. Two axe-blade goons and a hammer goon will appear. Wipe them out, then move on. Two punchers and a horn goon will appear. You will see a soda pop on the ground. Pick it up if you need some health, then clear out these enemies. After doing so, move on. A clown goon will appear. You should know how to deal with these guys by now, so defeat it. After that, move on. A kicking goon and two rolling goons will appear. You will see another Sailor Moon doll that will give you a 1UP! Pick up the doll, then kill the goons. Two axe-blade goons and two punching goons will appear after that, so kill them all using usual tactics. After wiping them out, a kicking goon, a rolling goon, and an axe-blade goon will appear for you to defeat. After killing them, the scene will switch over. ------ |Area 2| ------ Move forward and two jumping goons will appear. Defeat them, then move on. Do not pick up the heart yet until you have cleared out the next set of enemies. Two rolling goons will appear, so defeat them. After that, pick up the heart because if you don't, it will disappear when you move on. Two hammer goons will appear, so take care of them. Try not to pick up the crystal yet until your health is more than half way empty. After eliminating the enemies, pick up the crystal. This will increase your health bar by another 20%! Now you're a lot more durable than before, which will make this stage a lot easier. After picking up the crystal, keep moving forward. Two horn goons will appear, so take care of them. Fighting in this part can be a bit tough because of the annoying pillars blocking parts of the screen. After defeating the horn-heads, move on. Now that the pilars are gone, fighting is a lot easier. Two super goons will appear. You already know how to deal with these guys, so pulverize them. After that, move on. Two kicking goons will appear. Defeat them, then move on. Two clown goons will appear. You will see yet ANOTHER Sailor Moon doll on the ground. Pick it up for another 1UP! Now carefully deal with the clown goons, making sure to avoid their dives. You should be able to take care of them. After wiping them out, the scene will switch over. ------ |Area 3| ------ You will now be confronting...... Prince Endymon?!? After some talk, the fight will begin. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- BOSS FIGHT: Prince Endymon +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Holy smokes! We have to deal with a brainwashed Mamoru here! Sailor Moon players may have a difficult time with him. "Mamo-chan!" Endymon is not very hard. His attacks are a forward sword slash, a sword wave projectile, and numerous slashes. Fortunately, they are all easy to avoid. Apply the usual strategy of keeping away. Let Endymon follow you. Then quickly turn around and start whamming him with punch/grab combos. You can also use your jump kicks for a much further benefit. Do not use your characters' special attack on him because it takes too long to launch and he's likely to get in a few good slashes on you. Just play keep away, then assault him. You shouldn't lose much health in this fight. With Prince Endymon defeated, Queen Beryl will now step in. Time for the show down! +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- BOSS FIGHT: Queen Beryl +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Damn. Talk about TOUGH! Beryl fires a projectile, but it's easy to avoid. She also uses a very, VERY annoying lightning spell. That lightning will follow you around until you get hit. It's very hard, but it CAN be avoided. You just have to move carefully away from it. You should definetely have 5 lives or more at this point, because you can lose a LOT of lives here. And Beryl's health is very high, so it'll take time to bring her down. I usually don't bother with avoiding the lighting she summons upon you. They are likely to hit you anyway, so what's the point of trying to avoid them? Just close in on Beryl and get in as much hits as possible on her before the lightning strikes you. Do not use your jump kicks, or you'll lose a lot of health (unless if you have good timing on avoiding the lightnings). So yeah, Beryl only has two attacks. But those two attacks are very annoying. Just don't bother with avoiding the lightnings, focus on Beryl and pound her away with your punch attacks. I wish you the best of luck against her. Good luck! Level complete. *CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE BEATEN BISHOUJO SENSHI SAILOR MOON! NOW ENJOY THE ENDING!* Check the "Boss Strategies" section to find out who the bonus boss is if you played the game and beaten Beryl on the HARD difficulty. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ X. Boss strategies ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ There are seven bosses in this game, but there are 6 levels only. The following bosses are: +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ BOSS FIGHT: Super Goon +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ A VERY EASY boss battle this is. Kunzite's attacks are punches, a dashing punch, and kick attacks. He runs A LOT, so trying to hit him might be difficult. But he is not really a tough boss. Just apply the same strategy you have been using against the previous bosses. I know I'm repeating myself here, but that's how it works for beating the bosses in this game. Try to stay away from Kunzite and he will run after you. When he does, quickly either grab attack him or use a couple of your punch combos. It's a bit tedious to avoid his jump kicks, so you'll have to have good eyes inorder to evade them. Try not to use your special move, as that will lower your health further (in which case you will be prone to OHKOs and making things a lot easier for Kunzite). Just keep it up with that strategy and you will win. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- BOSS FIGHT: Kunzite +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Kunzite is a difficult boss and I will try to do my best to help you defeat him. Good luck! +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- BOSS FIGHT: Queen Metalia (BONUS BOSS) +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- -NOTE-: THE ONLY WAY TO FACE THIS BOSS IS TO BEAT THE GAME ON THE HARD DIFFICULTY. NO EXCEPTIONS! This is somewhat of an odd boss, but it's pretty tough. Unlike the other bosses you have faced, this one does not have a health meter. So how will you know if you're defeating it or not? There's no telling. Okay, to defeat this boss you have to jump kick its giant eye several times. It may take a while to do, but it'll be over soon. I sure hope you have some lives remaining, enough to ensure your victory over this peculiar boss. Avoiding the projectiles it fires at you is TOUGH, so don't bother with it. Just keep up with the jump kicks until you kill it. Good luck! ~*~*~*~*~*~ XI. Email ~*~*~*~*~*~ If you have any questions in regards to this game, I'm more than happy to answer.
