King of Fighters `98 Andy Bogard FAQ Version 1.00 by Handy Tanudjaja July 10, 1999 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- TABLE OF CONTENTS 1. Introduction 2. About Andy Bogard 3. Combos 4. Special Intro 5. Credits ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Introduction Greetings. Welcome to the Andy Bogard FAQ. With this FAQ, hopefully we can dig out what Andy Bogard has in his arsenal. In King of Fighters'98, there are two versions of Andy Bogard. The first one is the normal one which is identical to the King of Fighters`97 Andy Bogard. And the other one, is the Real Bout 2 Andy Bogard. This FAQ will cover both version. I've been playing with Andy Bogard ever since the first Fatal Fury series started, that was back when Andy was very scrubby using Zan-ei Ken (repeat Zan-ei Ken until your opponent is dead). And in Fatal Fury 2, he's even better. Of course, now in King of Fighters, he's a bit different. And lastly, I wouldn't miss the new Fatal Fury Wild Ambition, with 3D engine. :) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. About Andy Bogard "If you want to be the best, it's practice every day, pal!" Birthplace : USA Birthdate : August 16, 1974 Height : 1.71 m (5'6") Weight : 69 kg (150 lbs) Blood type : A Hobbies : Practicing martial arts Favorite food : Spaghetti ala Natto Favorite sport : Short track Most valuable : Picture of him and Hanzo Shiranui Hates the most : Dogs Fighting style : Koppo-ken and Shiranui Ninjitsu "Apart from the result, it was a good match." Normal version of Andy Bogard : Gourin Kai close, b/f + C Andy brings the opponent up to the sky, and after landing, kicks the body forward. Kakaekomi Nage close, b/f + D This throw is the same as early Fatal Fury's. Age Omote df + A This is an attack to the head, hits twice, and can be cancelled into special moves. Uwa Agito f + B Andy does a flip, and kicks the opponent. This counts as jumping attack, so must be blocked high. Hishou Ken qcb + A/C Andy shoots some energy from his palm, short range. Shouryuu Dan f,d,df + A/C Basically, a diagonal Dragon Punch that hit 6 or 7 times. Zan-ei Ken db,f + A/C Andy is famous for this move, and it does good damage also. Gadan Kou after Zan-ei Ken, qcf + A/C This is a Zan-ei Ken finisher, and is a must for safety reasons. The moves comes from RB2 Fatal Fury, although the motion is different, and he even performs it better! Gekiheki Haisui Shou close, hcf + A/C A pre-canned combo, this move hits 4 times, and sends your opponent flying, if it connects. Kuuha Dan hcf + B/D A flying kick, but leaves you wide open if it is blocked. The D version flies very high, and has possibilities of missing completely. Gen-ei Shiranui jump, qcf + B/D Basically, a Zan-ei Ken from air. Gen-ei Shiranui Uwa Ajito after Gen-ei Shiranui, B/D A Gen-ei Shiranui finisher that hits high (overhead). Gen-ei Shinraui Shimo Ajito after Gen-ei Shiranui, A/C A Gen-ei Shiranui finisher that hits low, try switching between these two to make opponent guessing. Hishou Ryuusei Ken qcfx2 + A/C Desperation Move, Andy performs several punches, and end up with a Hishou Ken (three if it is Super Desperation Move). Chou Reppa Dan qcb,hcf + B/D The Super Desperation Move version actually isn't too bad. But the Desperation Move version is kinda sucks. Low damage, especially when it only connects 2 or 1. "You are unfortunate to have to fight me." RB2 version of Andy Bogard : Gourin Kai close, b/f + C Andy brings the opponent up to the sky, and after landing, kicks the body forward. Hishou Ken qcb + A/C Andy shoots some energy projectile from his palm. I wish the C version behaves like RB Fatal Fury, but it doesn't. Instead, it behaves like Fatal Fury 2, the A version is slow, the C version is quick. Shouryuu Dan f,d,df + A/C Basically, a vertical Dragon Punch that hit 4 times. Kuuha Dan hcf + B/D A flying kick, but leaves you wide open if it is blocked. The D version flies very high, and has possibilities of missing completely. Dan Da Dan [Masculine Strike Bullet] qcfx2 + A/C This move is good for range, and speed. Tap the punch buttons to make Andy pounds the opponent more. Compared to the Hishou Ryuusei Ken Desperation move, this one is actually better. Chou Reppa Dan qcb,hcf + B/D The Super Desperation Move version actually isn't too bad. But the Desperation Move version is kinda sucks. Low damage, especially when it only connects 2 or 1. "Hmm, the goddess of victory knows something." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Combos Andy Bogard can also performs some damaging combos. Andy Bogard KoF'97 type : Jump C/D, stand C, qcb + A/C Jumping punch/kick, standing double punch followed by Hishou Ken. Jump C/D, stand C, f,d,df + A/C Jumping punch/kick, standing double punch followed by Shouryuu Dan. Problem : If the Shouryuu Dan is blocked, Andy is very open for combos. Jump C/D, d + C, hcf + C, f,d,df + A/C Jumping punch/kick, crouching punch, Gekiheki Haisui Shou followed by Shouryuu Dan. If the Gekiheki Haisui Shou doesn't connect, don't risk doing the Shouryuu Dan. Jump C/D, d + C, hcf + C, hcf + B/D Jumping punch/kick, crouching punch, Gekiheki Haisui Shou followed by Kuuha Dan when the opponent is falling. (Timing!) Jump C/D, df + A, db,f + A/C, qcf + A/C Jumping punch/kick, Age Omote, followed by Zan-ei Ken (just as the second punch strikes) and finish with Zan-ei Ken finisher. My favorite! Jump C/D, d + C, hcf + C, qcb + A/C Jumping punch/kick, crouching punch, Gekiheki Haisui Shou and as opponent is falling, Hishou Ken Jump C/D, d + C, hcf + C, qcb,hcf + B/D Jumping punch/kick, crouching punch, Gekiheki Haisui Shou followed by Chou Reppa Dan. The SDM version is actually much better than the DM version, so never do the DM version. Also : timing! Andy Bogard RB2 type : Jump C/D, stand C, qcb + A/C Jumping punch/kick, standing double punch followed by Hishou Ken. Jump C/D, df + A, db,f + A/C, qcf + A/C Jumping punch/kick, Age Omote, followed by Zan-ei Ken (just as the second punch strikes) and finish with Zan-ei Ken finisher. My favorite! Jump C/D, df + A, f,d,df + A/C Jumping punch/kick, Age Omote followed by Shouryuu Dan. I don't usually do this combo. It happens when I tried to do the Dan Da Dan after the Age Omote and end up with the Shouryuu Dan. Jump C/D, d + C, hcf + C, qcb,hcf + B/D Jumping punch/kick, crouching punch, Gekiheki Haisui Shou followed by Chou Reppa Dan. Jumping punch/kick, standing double punch, followed by Dan Da Dan. Tap the punch buttons for more damage. "Victory is mine!" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Special intro Andy Bogard has some special opening when faced with certain characters. When he faces Mai Shiranui, they give respect and bow at each other. Then they smile. When he faces Terry Bogard, they only give respect at each other. My favorite was in KoF'97, when he faces Mai. Wedding dress. Kinky eh? Also, you should see Terry and Andy's opening in Fatal Fury Wild Ambition. Nice. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5.
