Version 3.0 10/18/01 2:17 P.M. CT - Its been about three months... And I hardly even touched the game! I got RPG Maker about three months ago, and its very addictive. Well, I got some of the walkthough done, about 3 or 4 levels, but I promise, for those few people that even read this, (If any..:) I WILL get more done VERY soon. =========================== -------- III. FAQ -------- Q. What is the best jet? A. Their is no real best jet. You need different stats for different missions. Look at the jets + stats. But my favorite jet, who has all above average stats, it the SU-27. Or the A-10. That has maxed everything but power(speed). Q. Why can I never hit the enemy? A. A few things in the Vs computer strategies. If an enemy is coming from your right or left while your heading strait, you have no chance in hitting him. You need to make a quick "L" or "U" turn to be behind him, where you attack. And NEVER fire missiles without being locked on target. And only fire bullets when the little aimer shows. (It should show up at about 300 feet) If you can't lock on target, exelerate with the R1 button to catch up with the guy. Look at the section for me. Q. How do I get a lot of money at the end of a mission? A. After a mission, you get some money for sure, just not a lot. To make more, Kill everything you see. You get extra money for the more guys you kill. Don't just go after the main, mission enemy. Q. What do you mean by mission enemies? A. When the briefing is given before every mission, you will see him point out the jet location, and what kind they are. Above the name of the jet, it will say "target." Those are the jets you need to kill to complete the mission. Also a red dot will show up on the large map. (Square button.) Q. Why do I keep running out of missiles? A. You fire them to much. You have 65 missiles, and at the most, It will take 4 shots to kill a jet, and some take only 1. Again, don't fire unless you are locked on target. Q. Should I lanch with support? A. Rarely do you ever need to. In fact, I never did and saved much more money. They go very slow, and I never seen one kill anything. The are only good for taking a jet off you and chase him, but that doesn't happen a lot. Q. What is Power, Defense, ext? A. POWER is your speed. Exceleration really. All jets can only go up to 1450 MPH. That just makes it get to that speed much faster. STABILITY is how fast you can turn left and right, MOBILITY is how fast you can turn up and down, OFFENCE is the strength of your jet's missiles, and DEFENCE is your jets armor. Q. Are these jets real? A. Yes. They are all real. Q. Can you tell me when I get (Jet name)? A. Look in the Walkthrough. Good for the first few missions for easy mode, because you have that jet to start with. But soon you grow out of it. It deserves a perfect 10, but the exeleration will only get me in an argument. It can dodge missiles and shoot down jets like they are nothing. YF-23 (stealth) Stability - 1/10 Defense - 9/10 Offence - 1/10 Power - 10/10 Mobility - 7/10 Overall - 6/10 Notes: This is good definetly against friends because its steath, and good defence. F-16 Stability - 1/10 Defence - 1/10 Offence - 7/10 Power - 10/10 Mobility - 9/10 Overall - 5/10 Notes: This gets shot down WAY to easy. SU-27 Stability - 7/10 Defence - 7/10 Offence - 9/10 Power - 9/10 Mobility - 9/10 Overall - 9/10 Notes: An exelent jet indeed. I always kill with this one. When I play against my friends, I just fly around as they make me waist my missiles as they dodge um. I don't stand a chance! F-22 (stealth) Stability - 7/10 Defense - 9/10 Offense - 3/10 Power - 10/10 Mobility - 10/10 Overall - 7 Notes: Good. F-4 Stability - 7/10 Defense - 3/10 Offense - 3/10 Power - 7/10 Mobility - 3/10 Overall - 2/10 Notes: Bad. F-117 Stability - 1/10 Defense - 1/10 Offence - 1/10 Power - 3/10 Mobility - 1/10 Overall - 1/10 Notes: The hardest thing to do in this game, is doing a back flip at full speed without hitting the ground at 1 foot and not dying. The next hardest is using this jet and being successful. F-15 Stability - 3/10 Defense - 9/10 Offense - 10/10 Power - 9/10 Mobility - 7/10 Overall - 7.5/10 Notes: This is a great jet to have. TNDF-2 Stability - 9/10 Defence - 9/10 Offence - 10/10 Power - 3/10 Mobility - 3/10 Overall - 8/10 Notes: Its a goodie! ======================= ------------------- VI. Do's and Dont's ------------------- Do... - Dive when "Warning" sign is on for being locked on target by someone else. - Lock on target before firing anything. <- Always do that or you wont hit the target. - Fire two missiles when locked on target. You can fire up to two at a time. - Use bullets whenever possible Don't only use missles. - Kill non-mission targeted enemy if your strong enough to. Mission targeted enemies are guys you NEED to kill to complete the mission. Others are just extras for getting more money and making it harder. - Exelerate (R1) to catch up with enemies and save fuel. - Use (square) button to show the large map to help you navigate and see the mission targeted enemies. Do NOT... - Ignore any warning signs. (damage, low fuel, low altitude) - Fire without locking on target - Always fly with support - Buy every jet. - Go below 250 MPH (or KPH. Its the same thing) - Go above 7500 ft. - Go below 500 ft. - Always fly at full speed. - Ignore mobility/stability stats. - Do all missions in order. =========================== --------------- VII. Strategies --------------- This can be used against Computer and player - Fire two missile when locked on target. - Use bullets when possible - When you going face to face with another jet, exelerate, hold down X and once you lock on target, fire two missiles. It will kill them every time. - When an enemy comes in from the side while you are going strait, you have no chance of hitting him. Slow down really low, and turn intil yout facing behind him. Then just exelerate and shoot to kill him. - If your low on life, stay about 50-100 ft below the enemy. Go slow and lock on target. Fire, and he shouldn't be able to fire back. - When above 3000 FT at the least, to make a quick turn around, go into a nose dive to about 45 degrees down, then spin, and pull up. You can save good seconds on a turn to get up to a jet. IT TAKES TIME TO LEARN. Don't tell me that its impossible. (If you have any, PLEASE send them to me.) =========================== ------------- VIII. Wingmen ------------- Ok... Just so I don't have to review all the wingmen personaly, I would lke to say I don't think any wingmen are good. They might take down one jet if your lucky, but they go VERY slow, HARDLY shoot, and I think are only good for the last level. But because you might find them useful, and I want the FAQ to be bigger then 10KB, and because I have no other thing to do on a Monday. Walkthough ------------- Easy mode Don't buy anything yet, just go to mission one. Mission > 01 Destroy enemy supply lines! Reward > 5,000,000 Backround: "This is an evaluation of your operational abilities. Intelligence reports an enemy supply unit moving to resupplie thier farword positions. You should have adventage of suprize. We should have localized air supperiority for the duration of the operation. Target: CS-A Supply unit. Good luck!" Enemy jets: E-767 (x2) Reward > 300,000 Type > Mission enemy Level > Unknown C-5 (x4) Reward > 70,000 Type > Mission enemy Level > Unknown F-4 Reward > 10,000 Type > Non-mission Level > Rookie Prefered jet to use: F-14 First exellerate and lock onto either guy. They are E-767. Three missles kill them. Turn to lock on to the other enemy. They rarly fire back, so don't worry to much. Its optional to kill the MIG-31 on the left, but I would. Three missles again kill him. Head to the next place where all the enemies are. Two C-5 will be waiting. Again, three missles kill him. Now your just about done. Go to the right and you'll see an F-4. Two missles this time to kill it. Go to the lefts for to more C-5, kill, done! After the mission, you get the F-117, NOT WORTH BUYING! Get the F/A 18 Most money you can get from that mission: 5,440,000 Mission 2 Fighter Superiority Reward 1,000,000 "Immediate mobilization required. Our base's position was compromised in the last enemy push. Reports indicate immnedt arrival of bombers scrambles and ace thoses bogies! Target: B-52 Bomber force. Good luck!" Enemy Jets: TNDF-2 (x2) Reward > 30,000 Type > Non-mission Level > Rookie B-52 (x3) Reward > 100,000 Type > Mission Level > Unknown C-5 Reward > 70,000 Type > Mission Level > Unknown AV-8 Reward > 30,000 Type > Non-mission Level > Rookie Use: F/A-18 You start by heading strait for another jet. (TNDF-2) Do 1 of 2 things. I prefer going about 8,000 Ft into the air, fly over all the jets, and hit the AV-8's from the back. It only takes about one minute longer, and its safer. Move on to the C-5's ( AV-8 take 2 missles, C-5 takes 3 missles) Don't go to fast or hasatite because you might wind up by a few other jets too. For the B-52's, it wil take 3 missles. Leave one B-52 alive if you want to get extra money, this way you can go after the TNDF-2, which takes 3 missles to kill. You will get: TNDF-2. Buy it right away.
