Introduction )) ====================== Should this section be about me or about the game? ^^ Well, Hoshigami is yet another Strategy RPG game this year. Like many Strategy RPG games, you'll need to plan your strategy to win each battles in Hoshigami. Unfortunately, it (the strategy) won't be covered in this FAQ because this FAQ is actually made with only hidden items in mind. ====================== (( 4. Contribution )) ====================== Well, did you notice if I missed something or is there any errors in the walkthrough? Have a trick or tips to share? If you do, please kindly send it to me so that I can correct my walkthrough. Please, please, pretty please... Your name and e-mail address will be added into the "Credits" Section as a token of appreciation. Also, if you find any places confusing to you, please contact me too. If you didn't notice, my e-mail address and my ICQ number is < ngkleong@hotmail.com > ICQ 55261040 [Inferno II] It would be appreciated if you input the game's name that you'll be contributing, in this case, Hoshigami, as the subject no matter what type of contribution it is. Your contribution is greatly needed and appreciated. Thanks. ==================== (( 5. To do list )) ==================== Well, here's my little to-do list... 1. Add more info into the walkthrough 2. Finish the sections that are incomplete 3. Cover up all the choices you'll get throughout the game, perhaps 4. Make another walkthrough!!! :) ================== (( 6. Battling )) ================== In Hoshigami, there is a major part of the story line is battle. That is why you'll need to know a thing or two about battling before playing Hoshigami. -------------- What is gained -------------- Each battle in Hoshigami will award you something by winning a battle. Yes, the Bonus Items and the Bonus Money... But there is more. You get Exp. points every time you hit a people (Yes, regardless who they are, your ally or your enemy!). Apart from Exp. Point, you get Dev. points too. To get these points, you'll need to SUCCESSFULLY attack an enemy or cast a spell. If an attack is missed, no points will therefore be awarded. Apart from all these valuable points, you'll get hidden items, if you finds them, of course. These hidden items can be a weapon, an armor, an accessory, a coin, a seal, an item or a manual. ----------- Leveling up ----------- Like most RPG games in the world, Hoshigami features "Level" of a character. "Level" means the powerfulness of a character. So, the higher level your characters are, the more stronger you will be and therefore, the easier your battles will be. In order to level up, you'll need 100 Exp. points or more. To get these 100 Exp. points, other than the battles you will fight in the story, you should visit the Tower of Trial. Tower of Trial plays like a training ground in Hoshigami. Note that if you handle more than 100 Exp. points at a time, the extended Exp. points will be gone, leaving you leveled up, but 0 Exp. point to start with. Each level up you get will increase your main attributes. That is what makes you strong. Each attributes will be described below. The highest you can get is Lv. 99, I think, which seems impossible too because you can already finish the game at Lv. 60+. ---------- Attributes ---------- Main attributes, shown to the left in a status screen, is the core of a character. Each attributes plays a different role in your character because they will effect your character's sub-attributes. They will all be described below. +-----------+---------------+ | Attribute | Effects | +-----------+---------------+ | STR | Attack | | | Movement Cost | +-----------+---------------+ | SPI | CF At | | | CF Df | +-----------+---------------+ | CON | Defend | +-----------+---------------+ | DEX | Hit | | | CF At | +-----------+---------------+ | AGL | CF Df | | | Evade | | | Movement Cost | +-----------+---------------+ | LUK | Hit | | | Evade | +-----------+---------------+ +----------------+----------------------------------------------------------+ | Sub-attributes | Description | +----------------+----------------------------------------------------------+ | Attack | Attack points is what you'll need to kill. This, though, | | | will be countered by enemy's Defend points to reduce the | | | damage and Evade points to fail your attack. | | Defend | This is what keep you alive in battlefields. You will | | | Defend points to protect yourself from enemy's normal | | | attacks. | | Hit | This is your normal attack's success rate. Without this, | | | your Attack points is pointless. Enemy's Evade points | | | is your Hit points' enemy. | | CF At | CF At points is very useful for magic users because it | | | determains your Coinfeigm's damage, reduced by enemy's | | | CF Df points. | | CF Df | This is your only defence against Coinfeigm attacks. It | | | is essential if you want to stay alive from a magical | | | battle. | | Evade | Evade points is yet another sub-attribute that keeps you | | | alive in battlefields. Defend against enemy's normal | | | attack, ain't it better to evade it? High Evade points | | | and your enemy can't even touch you, except if (s)he has | | | high Hit points too. | | Weight | This is the total weight of all equipments you are | | | currently wearing. It will effect how far you can go. | | Movement Cost | This determains how far you can go, judging from your | | | STR, AGL and Weight points. | +----------------+----------------------------------------------------------+ ----- Deity ----- Like most RPG games, Hoshigami, too, have elements. They are Deities. They, like other games, will have advantages against one and weak against others. Deities too level up like characters. This is what the Dev. points are used for. You'll need 100 Dev. points or more to level up and like character's level up, extended Dev. points will be gone. Every time they level up, they will allow a character to learn certain skills. Each Deities have different skills to offer. They are all listed under "Skills" section. There are 8 Deities in Hoshigami. They are: +---------+-----------+----------------+--------------+ | Deity | Element | Strong Against | Weak Against | +---------+-----------+----------------+--------------+ | Amu | Fire | Zeneth, Ema | Gote, Kashis | | Ema | Earth | Gote, Kashis | Sonova, Amu | | Sonova | Force | Ema, Zeneth | Kashis, Gote | | Zeneth | Water | Kashis, Gote | Amu, Sonova | | Gote | Lightning | Amu, Sonova | Ema, Zeneth | | Kashis | Wind | Sonova, Amu | Zeneth, Ema | | Elvilla | Holy | ??? | ??? | | Vugtis | Darkness | ??? | ??? | +---------+-----------+----------------+--------------+ Note that Elvilla and Vugtis are hidden Deities. To get them, please refer to the "Characters list" section for more info. As for their information, it's still a mystery to me... --------- Coinfeigm --------- Coinfeigm is an art of magic in Hoshigami. It requires Coin. Coinfeigm's element is based on Deities. That is why you can judge which Coin to use by the chart above. Coins level up too. You don't get points in order to level up a Coin. All you need is to engrave Seals on it to prep it up in order to suit it to level up. Seals are not engraved as liked. You must pick the right Seal to engrave in order to get good results. You can engrave Seals on Coins in every Coin shops in every city in Hoshigami. The list for Coins and Seals I so far know is listed under "Items list" section. Coins too have their own attributes to merge with the sub-attributes in characters. They are: +----------------+----------------------------------------------------------+ | Coin Attribute | Desciption | +----------------+----------------------------------------------------------+ | MCP | Max CP stored in Coin. CP's real name is actually | | | "Coinfeigm Point", which is quite similar to Mana Point | | | from other games. | | CPC | CP needed to cast a Coinfeigm. It will be deducted from | | | the MCP every time a Coinfeigm is casted. | | RC | RAP points needed to cast a Coinfeigm. It will expend | | | equally to this number. | | RNG | Range of the Coinfeigm. | | AOE | Area of Effect of the Coinfeigm. | | SR | Success Rate of the Coinfeigm. This only applies to | | | certain Coins. | | POT | Potential (Power) of the Coinfeigm. This will merge with | | | a character's CF At points to cause damages and will be | | | deducted by an enemy's CF Df points. | +----------------+----------------------------------------------------------+ CP in the MCP will regenerate at time and will fully recover after each battle. ------ Weapon ------ In Hoshigami, there are 8 types of weapons. Each have different statistics and each one have their own deities. Here's their desciptions: +---------------------------+---------------------------------------------+ | Description | Statistics | +------------------+--------+------+--+---+-----+------+----+-----+-------+ | Weapon | Deity |Attack|CF|Hit|Evade|Weight|Cost|Range|Overall| +------------------+--------+------+--+---+-----+------+----+-----+-------+ | Ring | Ema | 4 |1 | 5 | 1 | 1 | 1 |1step|Grade 3| | Dagger | Kashis | 3 |2 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 1 |1step|Grade 3| | Sword | Amu | 2 |3 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 2 |1step|Grade 3| | Axe | Sonova | 1 |3 | 4 | 4 | 6 | 3 |1step|Grade 4| | Spear * | Zeneth | 2 |3 | 3 | 1 | 5 | 3 |2step|Grade 3| | Boomerang ** | Kashis | 3 |2 | 4 | 5 | 3 | 2 |8step|Grade 3| | Morning Star *** | Gote | 3 |2 | 4 | 2 | 5 | 2 |2step|Grade 4| | Bow **** | Gote | 3 |2 | 3 | 5 | 3 | 3 |6step|Grade 3| +------------------+--------+------+--+---+-----+------+----+-----+-------+ * = Diagonally and vertically only; Hits whatever on the way. ** = All direction; Can be intercepted if anything is on the way. *** = Diagonally and vertically only; Can be intercepted ****= All direction; Can be intercepted if anything is on the way; Shoots slightly up, can avoid middle intercepters from intercepting. All the weapons are graded with numbers, 1 being the best. In conclusion, all of the weapons have similar overall grades. This means that they're all well-balanced. Note that all these statistics are made based on the first version of every weapon, which is Carmine Ring, Dagger, Short Sword, Stone Axe, Spear, Boomerang, Morning Star and Short Bow. When the weapon improves, their other statistics may change but their range will not. It is fixed. Choose well which weapon to use! That's about all you'll need to know about Hoshigami's battling. Any other suggestion? Please don't hesitate to e-mail me about it. ===================== (( 7. Walkthrough )) ===================== ------------ Introduction ------------ (About this FAQ) Before starting, I want you to know that; some of the locations are SOMETIMES wrong... It's due to sometimes I'll get confused with the axis format below and also, sometimes I'll count Fazz's starting point when I'm needed to place the party members, which is wrong because I'm supposed to count that AFTER the placement of party members (You know that the game rotates itself SOMETIMES after you've finished placing the party members, don't you?). So, if you've spotted some errors throughout my FAQ, please write to me, ok? Thanks! This FAQ only features one way through the game. Like, if there's an alternative way or if-you-don't-get-this-character,-what-will-happen junk, it's not featured in this walkthrough. Maybe I'll try to cover this up too in the future. Since this walkthrough is made with only hidden items in mind, therefore, no strategics on how to win a battle will be given. . . . . . . . . . Y . . 9 . . 8 . A . 7 . . Ex: 6 . . ?- (X, Y) 5 . . 5 X A- (5, 3) 4 . . 4 3 . . 3 2 . . 2 1 . 1 0 This is how the battlefield's layout look like in Hoshigami, right? And without a coordinator, it'll be hard for me and you to coordinate where an item in the battlefield is. Therefore, I've made out this X and Y axis based on this layout so that we can follow for easier finding. But there are some notes that you must follow. That is: 1. PLEASE do not rotate your battlefield at the beginning of the game if you want to follow this axis. 2. Only Fazz (Or the main character in a battle)'s starting points will be given out for you to make sure that you're in the right rotation. Get it? Well, let's get on to the game! As for those whose wondering how I got these skills when I'm still in the beginning of the game, I've actually reached somewhere further when I've been planning to make this list. But all of a sudden, my memory card stopped functioning. All my save games are lost. Fortunately I've this list done before that happened. So I've decided to make a walkthrough as well. Strategies )) ==================== This section is devoted to tricks, or better said Strategies on defeating specific battles or specific combinations of enemies. Contributions are welcomed. In fact, I think I will make this section to be fully depended on contributors. --------------------- Chicken Lure Strategy --------------------- Sender Rangga Arya Gandamana (rangga_arya@yahoo.com) Circumstance Combination of Bow-man and Magician Description As you know, magician and archer are deadly combination. Magic attacks can damage your party's Hp up to 50% and also attack in groups. Archer are like sniper in the game. They are weak but can be annoying. Archers are also in high places where you can't reach them. Even though their attack are not strong like magic, they can never run out of arrows. To defeat a magician, you need to have at least two archers. And then, follow these steps: 1. Put your archers in high position. 2. Second, send one of your ally which is a magician to lure the enemies magician. The enemy will cast magic on your ally but can only give little damage. 3. Retreat your magician so that the enemies magician come to chase him/her. 4. When the enemy is at your archers target area, quickly attack them until they die. Remember also to cure your magician's Hp. For the archers, try to attack the enemies only once then do a session. After the session, your archer's attack will become more powerful. To defeat archer you need to lure them with a strong and own a lot of Hp. Send your ally to the archer's target area. This will trigger his/her attack. Try to hide near a wall because archers can't attack you if you are hiding behind walls. Well, that depends on where the archers are. After a few time attacking your ally (eventually miss), the archers will come after you. This time you can stay put hiding or lure him/her to your party's attack range. If the archer is in your magician's attack range you can cast your most powerful magic to attack him/her. =========================== (( 12. How to contact me )) =========================== Well, my contacts are actually written above but I'll write it down again. < ngkleong@hotmail.com > ICQ 55261040 [Inferno II] I accept only contributions, suggestion and errors regarding THIS walkthrough. I might be able to answer a few questions though... But I'm not good in answering. No stupid questions, please! All answerable questions will be posted below this, which is under "Asked Questions" I will ignore those with questions regarding the future chapters, which is not covered by this walkthrough. Also, NO PERSONAL QUESTIONS ;) Well, maybe if it's not THAT personal, I'll answer. Finally, PLEASE!!! No grammar mistakes or spelling mistakes understandable. It would be appreciated if you input the game's name that you'll be contributing or asking, in this case, Hoshigami, as the subject no matter what type of contribution or question it is. To the webmasters, I'm sorry, but I will not accept any requests on using my FAQ, with my private reason. Please understand. Contributors who contribute via e-mail will be replied to notify you that I received your contributions. You see, my English is not even near "average" in usage so don't send in hard-to-understand words, ok? ^_^; ========================= (( 13. Asked questions )) ========================= Here, I'll copy out all the questions E-MAILED to me which I SEE IS INTERESTING. So, if those who e-mailed me questions but it's not posted here, I might either lost the original message or I didn't find it quite interesting ^^; --------------------------------------------------------------------- Sender "Mark"Question "I have finished the game already but I by the ending. I would just like to clarify if you have finished the game already, is your game ending: " Answer Well, Mark, it is already confirmed that there is various endings in Hoshigami... So it's not weird if I've got a different ending than yours. --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- Sender Knightflame18@aol.com Question 1. "How many endings does Hoshigami have?" 2. "How many hours do you think the whole game play is?" Answer 1. I'm not sure about it... 2. I'm not sure either... I writes my FAQ with my PS and Hoshigami on so that I can sometimes clarify something such as place name. --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- Sender Lib8719@cs.com Question "Do you know of any GameShark codes yet?" Answer Well, IF I really want some codes (I said IF!), I'll visit GameShark.com. You could too! --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- Sender Rangga Arya Gandamana Question 1. "During the end of chapter 2, there was question whether Fazz should go on or send a messenger. I chose to go on. Because of my decision I had to fight some hard battle. What if I choose to send a messenger? Will the story be different? What if I didn't recruited Elena or maybe she died during battle will that have an effect on the story?" 2. "I'm also wandering about the priest of water. During the mission in chapter 3 we only need to defeat Leimrey to win the battle (impossible to do before killing those damned magician and archer). Can I save the water priest? But I couldn't save her because the magician next to Leimrey was always casting magic on her. Do you know a better strategy?" 3. "My friend told me that this game have 5 endings. Is it true? How can I get those endings?" 4. "How many chapters are there in this game?" Answer 1. Yes. I think EVERY choices you get in Hoshigami DOES effect your story line and also your ability to recruit some characters. Please refer to "Characters list" section for more details. 2. Yes again. Every characters you get to control in battles is save-able. They will also be available for you to recruit later in the game too. As for the strategy, just rush Leia all the way through the enemy's party and to join your own party. Don't care of other enemies. Also try shooting peoples out of the way on your way. Heal when HP is low. 3. I don't know about this... I'm sorry, but I can't help ^^; 4. Wooops, I wrote that there's 7 Chapters and it's wrong... There's 6 long Chapters in Hoshigami. --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- Sender Hockeyisverygood@aol.com Question "I know this may seem dumb but is this game impossible? i mean it seems like the enemies level up WITH me tactics ogre and ff tactics were alot easier do you have any tips on making it easier?" Answer Uhh... No, it's... not a dumb question... It's still counted as a newbie's question... Your question is exactly like mine when I first played the game. All you'll need is a good warm-up in Tower of Trial before advancing to the next battle. Raise your level to about 2 levels higher than your next battle's enemies' level to have an easy battle. As for the level tricks, many will do. Like, hit your own party member, cast healing spells on own party member on purpose, or use items on own party member would do too. Try them out! --------------------------------------------------------------------- ================= (( 14.
