Crash Bandicoot: Twinsanity Boss Guide and Tips (Version 1.0) By Edward 'Edwurdo' Rogers 05/11/04 Ver. 1.0 Introduction: Welcome to Crash Bandicoot: Twinsanity Boss FAQ. At the moment, Gamefaqs does not have a Boss FAQ for the game, and since this game has some very hard bosses I thought to help. Contents A) Basic Tips B) Dr. Neo Cortex C) N. Gin in The Mechabandicoot D) Tikimon E) Uka Uka Ice Titan F) N.Gin G) Nitrus Biro and Nefarious Tropy H) Dingodile I) Madame Amberly J) Evil Twins Death-Bot K) Afterword L) Legal Mumbo Jumbo A) Basic Tips Twinsanity is one of the more unforgiving of the Crash games and heres some tips for anyone who's new to Twinsanity I) Stock up on lives early Getting killed in Twinsanity is easier and it's harder to stay in piece so stock up on plenty of lives early so you don't have to see the annoying 'Game Over' Screen too often. II) Masks aren't just for Halloween Collecting the Aku Aku masks (Crash) and Uka Uka ones (Cortex and Nina) is important against normal enemy attacks but for some reason even the invicabiltiy doen't protect you from Nitro and TNT. (If you what to get past some Nitro try spinning an enemy into them to set them off, footballs and similar items can also be kicked into Nitro with [] or O) III) Learn the Bosses Pattern An important tip for any game, Learn a bosses pattern of attacks and learn the best and safest way to dodge them. This is very important against Dingodile Each Boss in this FAQ has his/her own 'Info Card' which is set out like below: Name of Boss: The name of the boss Hit Points: Number of Times said boss must be hurt to be defeated Diffulculty: The No. of * show how hard the boss is to beat. Attacks: List of attacks and a breif description of the attack(s) Location: Stage/Area where boss is found Arena: Description of the Arena the boss is fought in/on How To Beat: Obvious... Debut: The Bosses first apperance in the Crash Series Button Key O Circle X Cross [] Square Triangle (not used) B) Name: Dr. Neo Cortex Hit Points: 3 Diffulculty: * Attacks: Birthday Bomb: Throws a bomb into the arena, If it lands on the outside of of the main arena it destroys it. Rapid Fire: Fires several shots at Crash, just stay away from the crosshair. Big Shot: Fires a large but slow ball of energy at Crash. Location: N. Sanity Island Arena: A basic stone arena surrounded by a high wall. The middle of the arena is very strong but the eight outer 'slices' fall away after an explosive force. How To Beat: Dodge the Birthday Bombs and the Rapid fire. When the good doctor fires a Big Shot spin it back at him a la Crash 1, Repeat twice more. Debut: Final Boss in Crash Bandicoot C) Name: Mechabandicoot Hit Points: 7 Diffulculty: * Attacks: Missle Magic: Fires missles into the air which rain down on the wily bandicoot Chainsaw: Attacks the Outer ring of the arena with it's chainsaw arm. Big Shot: AKA the Snot Attack, same as Cortex's Big Shot (see above) Location: N. Sanity Island Arena: on top of the wall outside the arena mentioned above. How To Beat: Run to avoid the missles and jump over the chainsaw. Spin the Big Shot back at him when he fires to hurt him (Definate Proof that eating your bogers is bad for you) Debut: 2nd Boss in Crash Twinsanity D) Name: Tikimon (No relation to Digimon) Hit Points: 3 Diffulculty: ** Attacks: Earth Slap: His two lower arms dig under ground and slap at the earth where Crash and Cortex stand. Run to avoid. Eye Beam: Shoots laser from his eyes at C & C. Summon: Summons little Tikis which chase after the player. They die on their own after a while Location: N. Sanity Mountain Arena: Crater at the Top of the mountain. Plain, simple and a little boring. How To Beat: When Tikimon summons the little tikis his mouth should be wide open so jump up and press O to throw Cortex into his mouth. At this point it's hard to tell if he's choking on Cortex or if the doctor has been somewhere very foul. Anyway, continue the routine twice more and he'll be as harmless as the average garden gnome. Debut: 3rd Boss in Crash: Twinsanity but smaller pillars with his face on have been around since Crash 1 E) Name: Uka Uka Ice Titan Hit Points: 3 Diffulculty:* Attacks: Ice Trail: A trail of ice spikes runs across the ground at Crash SnowBall: Throws a snowball at Crash Location: Cortex' Icy Island Hideaway Arena: Frosted-over Metal platform with three smaller platforms on either side. Each smaller platform has a switch on it. How To Beat: Throw Cortex at one of the Switch Platforms then jump on the button in the middle of the arena. Make sure you're not standing on on of the grills. Repeat twice more till Boss is tender and well done. Debut: Crash 3: WARPED F) Name: N. Gin Hit Points: - Diffulculty: *** Attacks: Rocket Shots: Rapid-Fire Rockets rain on the bandicoot's parade. TNT Toss: Throws a TNT crate at you. Locoation: N. Gin's BattleShip Arena: Basiclly a large floating ring with a row of spikes on the outside. How To Beat: Run clock-wise or anti clockwise (your choice really) to dodge the Rockets. Wait till N. Gin throws the TNT and make sure it lands as close as possible to one of the three wooden 'spikeys' on the crows nest. Do the same to the other two. Debut: Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back G) Name: Nitrus Brio & Nefarious Tropy Hit Points: 3 Diffulcultly: *** Attacks: N. Brio: Bounce: Hardly an attack, just run to avoid. N. Tropy: Chrono-Sheild: Places a sheild around himself. Location: Middle of the Ocean Arena: A big non-slippery iceberg. How To Beat: Dodge Brio's Bounce Attack then stand by a crack in the platform and wait for Tropy to break the ice. Run and jump across the platforms working your way inwards. When his sheild drops jumps and spin him. STAY ON HIS PLATFORM! Follow the same procedure twice more. H) Name: Dingodille Hit Points: 4 Diffulculty: ******* Attacks: MeteorShower: Fires three fireballs into the air which fall down again Fire Wall: Creates a wall of flame and chases Crash with it. Fire Sweeper: Makes a stream of fire and 'swings' it from side to side. Jump over it but DON'T run and jump over it or the trail will fly at you stop then move again to try and catch you out. Fire Decapitater: Same as the Fire Sweeper but at head level. Duck down with O to dodge it. Persistant Fire Sweeper: Same as Fire Sweeper back it keeps coming back Jump over it. Tricky Fire: A mix 'n' match attack combined from the sweeper and decapitator moves. Run away, try to keep up with the trail and slide if it's about to hit you at ground level. Fire Blast: A charged up shot which flows across the ground. Location: Academy Of Evil Boiler Room Arena: Basic cirlular platform surrounded by flame. Each side of the platform has a 'tombstone' on either side. How To Beat: Dodge his fire attacks as noted above. When Dingodille uses FireBlast make sure it hits one of the tombstones on the side to unearth a switch. Body Slam it to activate the sprinklers. Run over and spin Dingodille. Repeat three more times to beat him. The complete set of moves he uses in the right order: Meteor Shower X 3 Fire Blast Fire Sweeper Fire Decapitator Fire Blast Persistant Fire Sweeper Fire Wall Fire Blast Tricky Fire Fire Wall X 2* Meteor Shower X 3 Fire Blast (* Be careful of this one. The moment Dingodille stops the first FireWall he starts a second one just inches from Crash's furry face. Boy, the amount of times I've been caught out by that trick) Debut: Crash 3: WARPED (Boss 2) I) Name: Madame Amberly Hit Points: 3 Diffulculty: ** / *** (Depends how fast you can get Cortex to Shoot) Attacks: TK Organ: Uses telekenisis to open up one of the Organ pipes which shoot flame. TK Bells: Use TK to send a cloud of bells at Cortex Location: Academy of Evil Head Teacher's Hall Arena: On top of a giant pipe organ in a large hall with a strange mist hugging the floor. (More likely then not, it's from the Cafeteria) How To Beat: Avoid the openings created by TK Organ (you'll see a little smoke before it opens) Rapidly fire at the lid to close it again. After a few of these attacks, Amberly will use TK Bells. Shoot them away to spin Amberly around then Hold [] to fire a charged shot at her back-pack. Do this again twice more. Debut: Crash Twinsanity J) Name: The Evil Twin's DeathBot Hit Points: Vs. Nina: 6 Vs. Cortex: 4 Vs. Crash: 4 Diffulculty: *** (Quite Ironic) Attacks: Vs. Nina: Stomp: Stomps on the ground and causes a shockwave. Flame Thrower: Spits Flame at Nina. Fire at two different heights. Ground Level and Sky High. Renforcements: Calls on a large gang of Alien lackeys. Vs. Cortex: Machine Gun Fire: A fast and deadly rapid fire gun. Is found on the DeathBot's right arm. Death Laser: A slow to charge but painful laser attack. Causes a shock wave on impact with the ground. Both this move and Machine Gun Fire can be dodged by running to the left hand-side. Vs. Crash: Beam Saber: Jumps into the air and brings a beam sword cutting down towards the floor. Stupidly easy to avoid. Location: Victor & Moritz's StrongHold of Evil on Twinsanity Island. Arena: A large round metal arena. During Nina's battle phase there are some pillers with rings on the side. How To Beat: This battle is divided up into three different phases where you control a different Character each time. As Nina Cortex: To start, skip over to one of the three pairs of pillers and place yourself between them so the green target appears on a rings. Press X then hold O. Keep pressing X and you should reach the top. Spin one of the power cells on the top then turn around and use O to swing to the other piller and destroy the cell there. The pillers will disapear and let you smash the other four power cells in exactly the same way. As Cortex: Nina's tired which means Cortex has to get brave. Start off by fireing some pot-shot at the Machine Gun on the D-Bot's right arm. (Your left) The moment the robot looks down to fire move out of the way. A little space of time is given to you to shoot some more before the Laser fires so take that time to do some damage. Repeat the procedere a few times and the Machine Gun will explode leaving behind the Laser. Shoot the laser during the time you have, but once it starts charging RUN! You could use O while running to escape if the shockwave is about to get you, but it leaves you less time to counter- attack. As Crash (and his new 'toy'): The mighty bandicoot returns with the remains of the Mecha Bandicoot and prepares to kick ass. This the easiest part of the boss. Steer the mech to the direction the sheild rotates. After the Twins use the beam saber find a gap in the sheild fire a missle from the right arm of the Mecha-Bandicoot using the [] button. Hit the Death-Bot with four missles then sit back and enjoy the very amusing ending.
