Weathers. The premise behind Predator is that huge humanoid aliens from beyond the stars come to Earth to hunt men for sport and those oh-so-precious skulls. The game was released in early May 2005 by Vivendi Universal Games and developed by Eurocom. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.2 Story ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Predators are silent. They hide in the shadows, stalking their prey. Waiting for the perfect moment to strike, remaining invisible to human eyes until the moment before the kill. Such is the law of Predator-kind. In this story we meet one who has broken that law. A Predator shamed and dishonored for not only allowing humans to defeat it, but also losing the sacred weapons of the hunt. The punishment for such dishonor was a hundred years' exile on a desolate planet where the only law is kill or be killed. But that is just the beginning. Having survived the trial, the Predator must now return to Earth to recover the technology it left behind and hunt those who would use the technology against the Predators. =============================================================================== ===== 2.0 THE BASICS ========================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.1 Game Start ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New Game ========= Start a new game. All that stuff can be found in the Stuff to Unlock section. Also, this walkthrough is based on the Blooded difficulty to make sure I get the best strategies, but everything still applies to the easier difficulties. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.1 A Midsummer Night's Massacre ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You begin in a seemingly empty courtyard. Jump down and kill the two thugs as they appear from the doorway, then wait for the door to explode and kill the next group. Run through the hall and dispose of all enemies to proceed. Once you get to the street you'll be surrounded by enemies. You could stick around and fight if you want to get some kills, but it can get pretty hairy. Get to the marker at the other end of the street to reveal the next marker in the alley. Jump up there and follow the markers to get through the alley. At the end of the alley a short cutscene will show Predator kick a thug off roof, then you can jump down. Kill any enemies you deem kill-worthy and get to the marker at the other end of the street. Another cutscene will show Predator jump onto the wall, then you can scale up to the top. Enter the alley and follow the markers along the roofs until a building explodes. Enter the building through the new opening and get to the other side, then jump onto the next roof. Get to the next few markers and jump onto the high roof to reach a small area that's on fire. Jump onto that roof to end the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.2 Copycat ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome... to the future! Luckily there are still plenty of sinful citizens and thugs for you to slice open. Start by turning on tech vision (green) and keep your wristblades in. Cloak and jump down and look for the glowing Serviteur guys. Lock-on to one of them and begin attacking with light melee. After enough punches (without wristblades) you'll grapple the guy and hold him up from the neck. Three markers will now appear. Head to the nearest one and jump on the roofs to get to them. Once you step in the marker a cutscene will show Predator flay the poor bastard and hang him up to dry. Return to tech vision and locate two more Serviteurs (the green circles) and take each one to one of the two remaining markers. After flaying the three copycats a new objective will appear to kill the riot police. Return to normal vision to track down the white targets on the radar. Each group will be a couple of SWAT guys, one female cop, and one Ulysses robot. Cloak and kill the female cop first (to keep her from calling for back-up) then quickly kill the SWAT cops. The Ulysses is somewhat slow, so save it for last. Lock-on and approach the Ulysses from behind, then jump when the arrow icon appears over the robot. This will perform a head-rip on the guy inside and shut down the machine. Follow the targets and attack all the cops while cloaked to easily defeat them. Now you just have to get to the Serviteur base. Follow the marker and kill the last two cloaked Serviteurs, then enter the narrow alley to get to the base. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.3 Sacrifice ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let's sacrifice some humans! Switch to tech vision and kill all of the cloaked Serviteurs, then kill the remaining guys. Use the structures to hide and don't forget to grab the items inside the crates. Save your spears and plasmacaster. Once the thugs are dead the Serviteur boss will appear. This guy uses a large sword and decloak smoke to keep you in his sights, so I recommend staying away from him. Switch to 1st person view and fire spears and plasmacaster bolts at his head, then finish him off by circling around or jumping over slashing him. Take your trophy by locking-on and standing next to him, then perform an execution. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.4 Dead Man Walking ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now we begin the search for the ship of the Predator's clan brothers. Switch to tech vision and note the three blue triangles on the radar. Each one is a beacon. Cloak and proceed to each beacon to activate them. Once all three beacons have been activated a cutscene will show an ambulance being ambushed for drugs. Proceed to the four targets on the radar and kill the four women carrying boxes. They run away quite quickly once they've spotted you, so use your speargun to kill them in one shot. Proceed to the next marker and watch the cutscene. Switch to the plasmacaster immediately and use 1st person view to charge the plasmacaster and fire at the group of guys below. Jump down and kill any that survived and then retreat to the rooftops before your alarm meter gets too high. Get to the next marker near the spot where you started and watch the muggers take the money (lousy punks!). Cloak and go kill them. Get to the beacon in front of the church (on top of the broken track near the mugging) and wait for a dead guy to stop at the front door. From the top of the track, switch to 1st person as you lock-on to record his password. Jump down to the voice box and lock-on in first person again, but this time use the vocal mimicry. The door will open like sesame, baby. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.5 Sanctuary ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sanctuary? Not for long... Jump up to one of the walkways on the side and approach the stage end of the church. Three Dead Men enforcers will drop down, so guess what you have to do. That's right, kill 'em up. Use a strategy similar to the Serviteur boss by jumping and slashing with the combistick so they don't get a chance to hit you, and don't stay in front of them too long. Feel free to use the speargun as well. Take them down one at a time and the Dead Men will now truly be dead. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.6 La Famiglia ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eh, what's-a this? OK, that's the only time I'll do it. Proceed left from the starting point and switch to tech vision. This will show the field-of-vision for the sentry guns and the range for the traps, so avoid them as you cross the bridges. Get to the bunker and wait for the lieutenant to appear. Lock-on and combo him (no wristblades) to pick him up, then take him to the scanner. This will shut down the first set of sentry guns. Return to the main path and get to the bunker on the right side. Do the same thing and deactivate the next set of guns to shut them all down. A Ulysses robot will now be dropped into the mansion yard, but DO NOT fight it. In fact you have to protect it, and it'll be clear why in the next level. For now run out to the main path and kill all of the mafia thugs. Focus on the missile launcher guys first, then clean up the remaining guys. Wait for the Ulysses to reach the mansion door to end the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.7 Death in the Family ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- See, the robot busted into the mansion for you! Now you have to kill both the Ulysses and the mafia boss inside. But it seems they're having a little fight of their own, so why not sit back and enjoy the carnage? Cloak and hang out on the top area while the mafia and Juvenile gang kill each other. Once one of the groups is completely dead, go kill the remaining people. If the Ulysses is still alive then lock-on and jump on its back to continually pound its hull, and if the mafia boss is still alive just use your combistick to wipe him out. Rip his skull and collect the glaive in the middle of the room to finish the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.8 Under the Gun ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Argh, now this one can be a pain. They say you have to follow El Hongo, but you really only need to get to each marker. Proceed east to the parking structure and then to the left side. There is a long chunk of train track on the left, so jump onto it and run along until you can jump onto the roofs on the right. Jump across and get to the marker on the walkway. Run straight ahead and use the building on the left to wall bounce (press Jump next to a wall) to the building across the street. Jump over the next street to get to the next marker. Head north-west with your tech vision on and head for the piece of train track next to the small building. Avoid the camera's field-of-vision and get on the track. Wait for the camera ahead to be on the right and quickly jump into the gap on the left. You can graze the cameras' view, just don't linger in front of them. Quickly run through the guys and over the next track to get to the next marker. Back to tech vision and back to the train track. Head south along the track and jump out slightly to the right so the camera near the marker won't catch you. Drop straight to the ground in tech vision and follow the street going south. Stay on the right side to avoid being seen by El Hongo. After the turn you should spot the marker on a high ledge to the left. Jump up there. Return to tech vision and follow that same street as it turns left around the block. Avoid El Hongo and get to the small building at the end of the block (you jumped on it earlier) and turn towards the marker. Run and jump from the edge to reach the ledge of the row of buildings. Jump up along the roofs to get to the final marker at the top. All right, no more camera trouble. Go into tech vision one more time and look right to find a few places to recharge, then return to normal vision. Each circle on the radar is a weapons dealer you have to kill, so get to work! Remain cloaked and use a quick spear to kill each vendor without raising alarm. Once you kill all the vendors the level will end. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.9 Skin Trade ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh, El Hongo. Why do you run? Cloak and drop down from the train track and wait for El Hongo's car to appear from the street ahead. It will be black with bull horns on the hood. Remain cloaked and follow him as he heads to the other end of the city where he'll meet with one of his pimps. Jump onto a ledge across from that building to avoid being caught. The next objective is to hunt down all of El Hongo's pimps and kill them. Switch to neuro vision and look for anyone who is yellow (possible threat). The women that appear as yellow are a bonus task, and the yellow pimps holding guns are the one's you're after. Go into 1st person view and lock onto a gun pimp to mark them all on the radar, then start killing! Stay in neuro vision and if you see someone who's yellow and wearing a hat then go do your job. Seven pimps later you'll be done with this level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.10 The Machine Men ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Start by unloading one fully charged plasmacaster shot into the group and all remaining plasmacaster energy, then use any spears and traps you still have. Now it's time to go mano a mano... a mano, a mano, a mano. The one guy with the moustache has a mean laser bolt, so stay close and lock onto him while circling around. Keep circling and slashing with the wristblades and glaive until he dies. The remaining three guys are easy to kill as well, but don't stand still or their killer punch will knock you right on your ass. Once you kill them all and take Viktor's head you'll move on to the next level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.11 Sink the Shipment ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's finally time to hunt down the "criminal genius", El Hongo. Jump across the large water tanks and head east to the roof of a building, then look north to a large window beyond some crates. Inside the window you should see El Hongo and Baby Blew (great names, ey?). Stand on the crates and switch to 1st person view to lock-on and view a cutscene. Now look up to find a long beam that goes over the path. Jump up to grab the beam and swing your way across to the roof of the large building. Look west from that tall building to find a hole in the large stacked crates. Enter that hole and follow that path to the other end to reach a large open area. Stay at the edge of the tunnel and use 1st person view and the speargun to shoot and kill the guards nearby on the left and the ground. Head out and right from there to shoot a guard keeping watch on a crate, two guards inside a small storage house, and one last guard on a ledge in the north part of the area. Jump down when it's all clear and open the crate inside the storage house to get some pulse mines. Go back through the tunnel and return to the roof of the building where the long beam starts. Jump onto the next building and go into 1st person view. Keep your eye on the narrow alley between the buildings and wait for the target to appear near the door, where she'll stop to say a password. Make sure you're locked-on in 1st person view to record it. Once she enters lock-on to the voice console (still on the roof) and use vocal mimicry. This will open the door, allowing the two black guards to walk away. Enter after they leave and kill the chick in the schoolgirl outfit. Hey, remember those pulse mines? Lob a couple of those bad boys at the two generators to shut them down and disable the magnetic fields and cameras. Follow the path and head north to the newly opened gates. Use the cloak to sneak past the two guards at the gate and proceed to the large tower at the west end of the dock. Climb up the netting and use the crane to reach the ship's deck and the cargo hold underneath. The objective is to blow the ship out of the water, so run to the east end (watch for guards) and blow up one of the blue Prometheus canisters. This will start a chain reaction giving you only 20 seconds to get out of the ship and return to the dock. After the ship explodes your only remaining objective is to kill El Hongo. Follow the same path and return to the starting area with the many large water tanks. Track down the target on the radar to kill Hongo and end his pathetic crime spree. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.12 Raze the Depot ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: On the west side of the depot there is a short hallway and a guard in front of the entrance. If you grapple the guard and carry her up to a scanner on the roof you can shut off all the cameras. It's not that much of a difference, but it may help. Hoorah, more fuzzy tech vision fun. Switch to the familiar green vision mode and note the bright lines running along the ground. Follow that first set of lines to the left and follow it to find a power feed box. Destroy it with a spear to take it out. Jump onto the roof and head south to find the next power feed behind a guard. You can easily kill these guards from behind by performing an execution, or simply spear them once in the head. Take out that second power feed box when you're ready. Now, return to the roof and look at the large BORGIA sign to the south. Just below that is another power box. Go into 1st person view and zoom in to shoot the box with a spear. The final box is located inside a small hallway on the west side of the depot. Run around the ledges on the south side to get to it and enter the hallway. Once you destroy that box the elevator shaft in the middle of the depot will open up. Go and jump inside, but use the beams along the way to slow your descent. Be sire to cloak before you enter as this area has plenty of Ulysses robots and guards to mow you down. Switch to tech vision and run to the east side of the room. Jump up onto the walkway above. Avoid the pulse mines if you can and take out the nearby guards, then start attacking the tank of blue goo. Once the beeping becomes rapid run away as quickly as possible to avoid the explosion. Run to the next two tanks on the walkway and blow them up in the same manner. The final tank is located on a platform in the south-west corner. Jump from the walkway to reach it and blow it up. Once that tank explodes, return to the walkway and attack the glass tube in the middle of the room to set off the whole system. Quickly jump down and run to the elevator shaft to escape. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.13 The Monster Squad ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oohhh man, these guys are no joke! Particularly the annoying laser guy and missile launcher guy. Start by finding either of those two and using up all ranged weapons (spears, plasmacaster, traps), and follow it up with lots of circling around and slashing with the maul or glaive. If the other monster squad soldiers begin to attack immediately run away and wait for one of them to find you. On the Blooded difficulty just two shots can kill you, so never stick around out in the open. There is a medicomp in front of the north gate and one in the north-east corner if you need them, and the pulse mines on the north roof and crane be used to stun them. Once the laser and missile guys are dead you only have the sniper and freeze gas guys. They're both a cinch. Take the skulls of all four soldiers to end the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.14 A Night to Remember ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey, congrats. You've completed the first half of the game. The second half is where the story really kicks in, although it can get confusing. Pay attention so you don't miss any details. Run out to the street and follow it. You can ignore the rioters and cops around the corner, or kill them if you're itchin' to see some more blood. Once you've passed them grab the spears on the left, then turn right and jump onto the large sign with the woman on it. Climb up to the marker to continue. Jump onto that wooden pole to climb on it, then onto the beam and the roofs on the left. Switch to tech vision to find the recharge box and refill your energy, then continue south through the alley. Get to the fence at the end and climb around to the entrance of a large courtyard. Here your objective is to kill five mafia lieutenants, the guys wearing black vests. It's easy enough if you run around to avoid shots and focus on killing those five guys. If your health drops below 30 go ahead and find a quiet corner to heal in. A new door will open once you kill the five targets. Run into that alley and run to the end to find a black fire escape (just ignore the rioters). Climb up this fire escape and into the narrow opening that leads to the roof of the museum. Jump up there to proceed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.15 Extinction Event ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bah, a simple level. Remain cloaked and run through to the next large room, then through the gate and into the next room. Avoid contact with the mafia thugs and run up the stairs. Keep running up stairs until you get to the top floor (with all the stuffed animals), then go out onto the balcony into the Egyptian artifacts room. Here I'd suggest killing all of the guys before opening the gate to easily move on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.16 The Boss of This City ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The mighty Bruno Borgia, at last we meet. It seems his mighty shield can deflect the disc AND spears, so ya got to get down and dirty with him. Lock-on and begin circling around (much like all bosses thus far) and jump over to slash his back. Continue attacking his back and never stand still lest you want an axe to the face. He'll go down rather easily, but if you need some boosts there are spears, recharge boxes, and medicomps scattered around the area. Take Borgia's skull to end the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.17 Escape ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back to reality for poor Scarface. You're trapped inside of a lab, binds holding your wrists in place. Tap the light melee button quickly to break out and kill those two scientists in the lab. Sure they're not packin' guns, but they deserved it. Jump up to the open vent in the south end of the room and run out to the main hall. Unlike many of the missions thus far, this one requires actual stealth and extreme caution. With only 10 health points you can't afford to be fast and kill everyone. Jump down from the walkway on the north end of the main hall and run to the east lab. Swiftly kill the scientist and any guards that may have followed you in, then collect your mask. Stand at the back of the room and go into 1st person view and look out towards the hall. Two guards will be in front of the window talking. Lock-on to the guy with the red icon over his head and listen to the conversation until the vocal mimicry is activated. Wait for the guys to walk away and then jump back onto the walkway the led you to this room. On the right side you should see a beam that you can swing on to get to the next walkway. Do that and lock-on to the guy in the south-west corner with a red icon over his head. Use vocal mimicry to play back the conversation (this guy must be Brad, the dude with the wife that's worth doin') and all the guards will run to the center of the room to watch them rumble. Wait until they gather in the middle then QUICKLY enter the south-west room before Lucretia's bodyguards spot you. Kill the one guard in here and switch to neuro scan. Scan each scientist in 1st person view until you find a senior scientist, then grapple him and carry him to the marker in the main hall. This will open the door for you. Don't bother to fight anyone, simply get through the hall and into the morgue. Jump onto the tables on the left side and make your way to the door high up at the west end. Get inside to enter some sort of specimen chamber. Jump up from one walkway to the next but be very careful about it. One fall to the bottom could easily kill you. Enter the large room at the top to find more guards and more scientists. Run around the ledge on the right and get to the crates at the north end to get some medicomps, but do not use any. Save them for the next level. The ledge on the west side of the room has a recharge box, and once you hit it a door will open and release a bunch of mangled what-used-to-be people. Let them walk out a ways so they can clear the guards away from middle of the room, then lock-on to the two guards at the elevator and use vocal mimicry in 1st person view. This will clear them out so you can lift the gate and escape. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.18 Rescue ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oy, now it's on to more guard killing. Run out into the main hall and fire one fully charged plasmacaster bolt at the group of guards on the right. Run over there and quickly slash and kill the remaining guards with your wristblades. Enter the south-east room when it opens and destroy the power box behind the captive Predator. Once he's free the Predator will attack all enemies, making things just a bit easier for you. Return to the main hall and enter the next door on the east side. The rooms at the end contain a recharge box and several weapons and upgrades, so grab everything and return to the main hall. Kill all the guards to open the large door in the middle, then rush in and kill the remaining guards. Once they're all dead the final marker will appear at the end of the hall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.19 Prey of the Clan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally out of that lab and out in the fresh air. Head right from the starting point to find Swift Knife, the rogue Predator that you saw earlier in a tank at the lab. Immediately attack him with the disc if he gets out of maul range, and if he gets too far then quickly follow the walkway to chase him. Run north to get to the first weather station and kill Swift Knife if he's still alive. Avoid Long Spear's (another rogue Predator) lasers by never staying in one spot. Next look for any scientist and grapple him. Carry him to the marker to find a weather station control panel, and hold him in front of it to shut down the station. Kill all remaining guards on this station to move on to the next building to the east. Now the police ships will begin attacking, but they're as easy to avoid as Long Spear's shots. Continue on to the next two buildings and do the same scientist to control panel/kill all guards routine. Head to the next building after those two and climb up, and recharge any health or energy you may need. Jump down and head to the large building to the north to fight the remaining two rogue Predators. The big green guy packs one hell of a punch, so lock-on and use your traps and plasmacaster to take him out. After enough damage he'll actually run away instead of staying to die an honorable death. Now run to the sniper Predator and easily kill him with your maul or wristblades. Jump down and use one of the scientists on the walkway below to deactivate the weather station and move on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.20 Ten Thousand Ways to Die ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another kill-fest. Kill all the guards at the first building and it will deactivate the force field. Run down the walkway and kill the guards here, then defeat the Ronin bodyguard that emerges from the doorway. The maul should easily handle all enemies that cross your path. Head to the now open walkway and cloak to evade the Ulysses robot. Destroy him the usual way (a jump on the back) and run through the next couple of guards. Now jump on the walkways at the top of this building and run around to the north side. Switch to tech vision and find the power box at the east end that controls the force fields in the building. Destroy it to hit the power box inside and turn off the shock field on the wall of the next building. Run to the wall and quickly kill the missile guards on the bottom and top. Go north from Calypso Towers but be weary of the missile guards on a building far to the north. Run left and kill that bunch of guards as quickly as possible, then jump into the middle floor of the building. Cloak and run east along the walkway, but watch out for the pulse mines on the ground. Switch to tech vision and use spears to get rid of the mines if you want a smoother run. Approach the next building in tech vision and kill all the female guards, then defeat the red-haired Ronin. This will open the north-west forcefield. Run towards that building (Colossus Bowl) and kill the guards on the middle walkway, then jump up and use some pulse mines on the prototype Ulysses. This will disable it, allowing you to hack away with your maul or glaive until it crys out in robot pain. Now run to Delta Shores to the east and run back to kill that final missile specialist. The final fight for the level is a bout with the same Ronin bodyguards that ran off like punks earlier in the level. Use tech vision to spot them if they cloak and use up any ranged weapons you may have (spears, plasmacaster, etc.). Attack with the maul if you have to fight hand-to-hand until all three go running off to their mommy, again! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.21 Come to MOTHER ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Damn it, you are now back in Borgia territory. Frankly I had enough of it the first time. Collect the pulse mines scattered in the car garage and run out to the hall where a small box is located. Destroy the box to open the door. In here you'll find about 20 garden-variety Ulysses robots, which will be released three at a time. It's simple to kill one with the usual jump to the back, but with two other Ulysses shooting you may not last long. What I like to do is gather them close together and use a pulse mine to disable two or three at a time. Kill the one left standing while the other two remain hunched over, then kill the remaining ones. Just keep using pulse mines (and medicomps when you have to) to finish off the lot. Run into the next room and climb the stairs to find another one of those small control boxes. Destroy it and then enter the office hallways in the next area. Here you'll have a load of prototype Ulysses and guards, but you don't really have to fight them. Just follow your radar to the white target circle to find an office employee. Grapple him and take him to the marker inside an office on the opposite side (use your plasmacaster or one of the enemies to break the window). Once that's done all you have to do is enter the elevator shaft in the middle of the offices. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.22 Hot Time in the Old Town ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cloak and run straight ahead to get the plasma mines, then jump on the roof above that. Switch to tech vision to find and destroy the first of four power boxes. Jump down and stick to the left side of the street to get to a church with scaffolding all around it. Climb up to the top of the steeple to find the second power box. Jump down and cross the street to the opera house. Hold jump to reach one of the flag poles and crouch on it, then jump onto the balcony to get the third power box. Now, at this point I'd suggest killing the eight guards on the street. Use tech vision to spot them and get rid of them so they don't bother you in the second part of the level. The fourth power box is on the small street on the south side of the opera house. Once you've destroyed all four boxes the holographic projection will vanish to reveal the real room. You'll also have the pleasure of four monster squad guys to keep you company. Much like the previous encounters, lock-on and start circling around them. Try to group them close together and use a pulse mine, then unleash some maul action on their asses. Keep using the pulse mines, and if you run out then use all your plasmacaster energy, spears, and plasma mines to finish them off. Just keep moving to avoid getting hit. Take their four skulls to complete this mission. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.23 Last Rites ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well hey, if it isn't the angry green giant. I guess he does have a large enough pair to fight to the death. Start by locking onto him and using up any ranged weapons you may have. Then, lock-on and use the maul while circling around and jumping over him. His moves are slow enough so you can see them coming, and a little jump over his head is all it takes to get past him. Defeat Stone Heart and take his skull to end his life with honor. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.24 "If It Bleeds..." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's a little bit of alien-killing 101: aliens bleed acid, so your wristblades, maul, and glaive are not the way to go. Collect the pulse and sonic mines and lob one at the group of aliens to stun them. Then, equip your combistick (it's finally useful!) and beat the acid out of those little black buggers. Once that first group is dead the doors will open. There are several ways to go here, but here's the path I usually use. Go through door 2 and about halfway down the first drop there will be a door. Gather the aliens together and stun them with a mine, then open the door and enter to find generator 2. Destroy it and continue down the tunnel. Follow the path until you get to the split, and follow the arrow pointing to generator 3 on the left. Lay down a mine in front of the door in case some aliens show up and go inside to blow up this generator. Exit to the right and follow the dark tunnel until you get to a wide vertical shaft. Jump to the other side and crawl up the wall, setting sonic or pulse mines when any aliens get near you. Enter the tunnel and keep climbing and setting mines until you reach a large core reactor room. Jump down and collect more mines, then go through the tunnel labeled 4. Follow the arrows to generator 4 and blow it up. Run down the tunnel opposite to the generator 4 room and keep going until you see a sign with a 1 on it. Run straight ahead and climb up the next tunnel and follow the arrows to generator 1. Climb up the tunnel that you entered to get to generator 1 and keep climbing until you hit the top. Run out to the end of the tunnel to return to the core reactor room. Now simply stun any aliens hangin' around and destroy the core reactor tank to cut the power to the facility. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.25 Bug Hunt ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With the power down you can go give MOTHER a swift stab in the gut, but first you have to kill a good number of the aliens. Collect any mines from the ground floor and run into the hall to begin the alien slaughter. Much like before, use pulse and sonic mines to disable large groups of them, then use your combistick to kill the necessary 30. Once that's done, run out and fall down the long shaft. Look for the arrows pointing to generator 4 and run to the right side. Stop at the large 1 sign and enter the left tunnel, and follow this tunnel to the end (do not fall in the hole) to reach MOTHER's chamber. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.26 The New Flesh ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We killed his mommy, now let's show Hunter who the real hunter is. First of all you can't hurt Hunter yet (he's mysteriously invincible) so run away and explore the lab until the Ronin bodyguards appear. It seems they finally chose to die for their mistress, unfortunately she's nearly dead already. With them to help you can now attack Hunter until his health is nearly gone, then he runs and jumps out a window. What's with all the yellow-back chickens in this game? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.27 End of Empire ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Start running and keep following Hunter until he gets to the top of the tower. My, what nice place for a big climactic final battle... Let the three Ronins fight Hunter, though they won't last very long (rest easy, Lucretia, your guys have come through for you and died). Once it's your turn use all your ranged weapons and then switch to the good ol' circle, jump, slash with a maul, repeat. Continue attacking and he'll eventually jump onto the Bruno Borgia statue. Follow him onto the hand of the God of gangsters and rip the skull from his shoulders to end the Borgia legacy once and for all. And so, the story ends. Enjoy the finish, and make sure to watch the credits to get the full ending. =============================================================================== ===== 4.0 TRAINING & RITUALS ================================================== Training ========= Training consists of three levels that guide you step-by-step on how to move, use gadgets and weapons, and how to attack. They're pretty straight forward and can actually be quite helpful for those who are just starting. There are certainly some moves that take a while to use effectively. Rituals ======== Rituals are timed races using some of the story mode's levels and some entirely new locales. Some of the best times are pretty easy to beat, while others will take a while. Here are some tips on beating the ritual challenge times: - Wall bounces (press Jump next to a wall) are much faster than grabbing a ledge or using a high jump. - Turn the camera to make a corner instead of moving the stick left or right. - Do not jump down from high places or the impact will slow you down. - The marker under the bridge in ritual three can be reached with a backflip (special move button). - Never jump down onto a lower level; always backflip onto the ledge (special move button) and fall from there. - The direct path is often the quickest, so cut corners often. ===============================================================================

It's to the right of Hunter's experiment chamber on a bright platform. Speargun ========= The speargun is only available in the Neonopolis levels. - First upgrade is in "La Famiglia". It can be found on a helipad on the roof of the mansion. Use the window on the left side of the mansion to get up there. - Second upgrade is in "Rescue". Grapple a green armor guard and carry him to the scanner in the first hallway on the left. The upgrade is inside. Plasmacaster ============= The plasmacaster is used in the Neonopolis levels. - Upgrade #1 is in "Under the Gun". West of the parking structure there is a bunch of rubble from a destroyed building. Jump to the top of the rubble to find the upgrade in the north-west corner. - Upgrade #2 is in "Hot Time in the Old Town". Climb to the top of the church steeple and look down at the museum roof to see the upgrade on a platform. Smart Disc =========== The smart disc is used in the New Way City levels and is retrieved in "Rescue". - The first upgrade is in "Rescue". The second door on the right leads to a room with several weapons, including the smart disc upgrade. - The second upgrade is in "If it bleeds..." It's on the ground next to the core reactor that must be destroyed at the end. Armor ====== Armor absorbs damage from enemy attacks. - Upgrade #1 is in "Death in the Family". Kill the Don behind the red curtain on the top floor. - Upgrade #2 is in "Escape". Kill the head scientist in the south-west room. - Upgrade #3 is in "Hot Time in the Old Town". Cloak and perform an execution move on the eight guards to kill them without alerting them. Bandolier ========== This determines how many mines you can carry at one time. - First upgrade is in "Sex Trade". Use neuro vision to find the eight hookers scattered throughout the city. They tend to stand still on corners. - Second upgrade is in "Rescue". Grapple a green armor guard and take him to the second room on the left. Hold him to the scanner to open the door and kill the Juvenile gang leader. - Third upgrade is in "If it bleeds..." Destroy the generators in numerical order by following the arrows to each number. Energy ======= This supplies power for cloaking, smart disc, and plasmacaster. - The first upgrade is in "Dead Man Walking". Open the crate that is on a roof north of the starting point, then open the crate in the north-east corner near the arms deal objective. - The second upgrade is in "Raze the Depot". There is a black guy with an icon over his head inside a room on the east side. Use a charged plasmacaster to kill him through the roof or scare him to come out of the bottom floor, then kill him. - The third upgrade is in "Come to MOTHER". Destroy all the prototype Ulysses in the office area. Health ======= Um, this is your health. Important stuff. - Upgrade #1 is in "Copycat". Kill the hobo-killer in the north-west corner of the level. - Upgrade #2 is in "Sink the Shipment". Kill the Serviteur boss in the area where you pick up the pulse mines. He's on the ground crying. - Upgrade #3 is in "Ten Thousand Ways to Die". Use tech vision and activate the first beacon on the roof of the second building from the start, the second beacon under the Colossus Bowl where you fight the Ulysses, and the third beacon at the end of the level near the building where you fight the three Ronins. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5.3 Costumes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jungle Hunter ============== Kill the Irish boss in "A Midsummer Night's Massacre". He can be found on the second street. Ritual Armor ============= Destroy three weapons vehicles in "Under the Gun". The first truck can be found on the second level of the parking structure at the north end of the map; the second truck is just west of that parking structure tucked between two other cars on the sidewalk; the third truck is south-east of the parking structure next to a Neonopolis Bank. Alien Hunter ============= Kill 7 snipers in the courtyard of "A Night to Remember". The easiest way to do it is to gather 10 spears, stand on one of the small walls that line the paths, and cloak (you'll remain cloaked if you stand on the walls). Jump into a tree to crouch down then go into 1st person view and shoot the snipers in the west and south windows. Dark Blade Clan ================ Kill the police chief in "Extinction Event". Remain cloaked and sneak past the guards so they don't close the gate of the next room. If you haven't been spotted the chief will be making his way down the stairs. Kill him before he gets away. City Hunter ============ Kill 50 aliens in "Bug Hunt". Just gather pulse and sonic mines in the starting area and stand under the door to lure the aliens inside. Keep luring aliens and killing them with your combistick until you get the message that you've killed enough. Bad Blood ========== Destroy the computer containing Hunter's transformation info in "The New Flesh". The computer is on the highest walkway in the lab. =============================================================================== ===== 6.0 CODES & SECRETS ===================================================== Nothing that isn't already listed.
