Created: 11/23/99 Last update: 1/28/00 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- iii. Introduction ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I believe that Phantasy Star IV is my #1 favorite RPG. It was the first memorable RPG I've ever played. I've had lots of fun with this game, and I reveal my secrets unto you. I think that even masters of the game might even learn a thing or two, but then again, I'm probably wrong :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- iv. Ultimate Training Methods ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Sand Worms Macro: 1. Chaz - Nazan, Gizan, or Zan (Go from left to right in power) 2. Rune - Nawat, Giwat, or Wat (" ") 3. ???? - For different characters, use these: Rika - Dblslash Hahn - (Whatever you want) Raja - (Whatever you want) Demi - (Whatever you want) 4. Wren - Burstroc 5. Kyra - Flaeli It will end up doing Blizzard, which is excellent against Sandworms (Can do up to 1,000 pts.) Whatever move you chose, and then Shooting Star, which does a moderate amount of damage. You should only have to use that 1-3 times, depending on the strength of Blizzard. If the Sandworm uses Earthquake, then you should be quick to heal. Macro II: 1. Chaz - Rayblade----PALADIN 2. Hahn - Astral -----BLOW 3. Wren - Attack if you have Photon Eraser, if not, use Posibolt 4. Rika - Dblslash 5. Rune - Legeon This bad larry will probably kill him in one turn! Paladin Blow is almost off the scale, Wren does 200 damage either way, Rika does about the same, and Rune can do up to 400! This one is ultimate! Here is the EXP chart. 1 Living - 19,517* 2 Living - 9,758* 3 Living - 6,505* 4 Living - 4,879* 5 Living - 3,852* *Exact Number varies with how many Infant Worms you must fight before the Sand Worm comes. Location - I think the best place to fight Sandworms is Termi. If you come across a couple Caterpillars, kill them to pay off for the inn. If you come upon Infant Worms, kill all but one (Beware, they have less than 90 HP) 2. Dezolis Macro: 1. Chaz - Nazan, Gizan, or Zan (Going left to right in power) 2. Rune - Nafoi, Gifoi, or Foi (" ") (Choose the last 3 Fire based - if possible) 2nd Macro 1. Chaz - Nazan, Gizan, or Zan (Go from left to right in power) 2. Rune - Nawat, Giwat, or Wat (" ") (Choose the last 3 Ice based - if possible) (This is because, believe it or not, some monsters are fire-based here, you should be able to tell by the color) You should kill off the other party members for this. Kill off everyone but Chaz and Rune for best experience. Most people here are susceptible to fire; so Fire Storm (Macro 1) should do enough damage to kill them all. They also give extremely high amounts of EXP for 2 people. The Sky Tiaras pay the best. Then the moles, then the Red Helixes. 3. Prophallis These guys are located in The Edge. There is no need for any macros here. These guys aren't too tough, but they're extremely rare. They give more EXP than 5 sand worms! Now, they aren't deathable, so just unleash your massive attacks like Nathu, Legeon, Posibolt, or Megid! This guy has approximately 3,000 HP, but it's definitely worth it! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- v. Hunter's Guild Missions ------------------------------------------------------------------------- For all missions, you must talk to the person who the Guild Mission Lady tells you to. She says where they are, so it shouldn't be a problem. Most of the time, like mission 2, the mission can't be completed until you talk to them. 1) The Ranch Owner When: After Seed is blown up Reward: 5,000 Macro A: 1. Alys - Shift 2. Rika - Saner 3. Hahn - Wat 4. Chaz - Tsu 5. Gryz - Attack Macro B: 1. Alys - Zan 2. Hahn - Wat 3. Rika - Dblslash 4. Chaz - Crosscut 5. Gryz - Attack Macro 0: 1. Alys - Vortex 2. Hahn - Wat 3. Rika - Res (Whoever needs it) 4. Chaz - Tsu 5. Gryz - Attack This one is pretty tough if you try it as soon as you get it. I mean VERY tough. I'd wait until you're level 10+ before you do it. Use Macro A once, and then continue using Macro B until Crosscut/Dblslash runs out. Macro 0 is used manually (For Res) If no one needs curing, have her attack. The worm gives you 1,200+ meseta. You also get 5,000 meseta from the guild. Congratulations! +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ 2) Tinkerbell's Dog - While in Aeido, leave, but only take one step out of the gate. Hug the wall and go to the top-left hand of the town. You should see a house. Go into it, and descend the stairs. Talk to the chef who has a VERY large variety of Shortcakes. Buy one, and go to Monsen. Then, near the crack, will be a fat little dog identical to the one in Krup. Talk to it a couple of times, and then you will automatically be transported to the little girl's house. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ 3) The Missing Student - A woman from the Piata dorms has joined Zio's little cult. Go to Termi's Gift Shop, and buy a cheap rice cake-like Perolymate. Go to Kadary and into the temple. Talk to the woman and she will faint. Then you will go into the inn. Talk to the guy a couple of times and then go on the opposite side of the bed and talk to the woman. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ 4) Fissure of Fear - Go to Monsen and into the house 'across the street' from the crack. Then the little sign blocking the crack will be gone. You will find the little boy's shoe before you find the "Fract-ooze" Defeat the slime boss for 1600 exp. The little boy will run back home, and you just netted yourself a nice amount of money. Macro A: 1. Chaz - Strongest version of Tsu 2. Rune - Strongest spell (Not Efess) 3. Rika - DblSlash 4. Wren - Attack or BurstRoc (If you have it) 5. Raja - Miracle 5. Kyra - Flaeli/Attack Just keep pounding this guy into the ground. If you don't have Raja, then heal when you need it. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ 5) The Stain in Life - Reward: 50,000 - After sleeping at the Aeido inn for the first time, you might remember that 2 girls were trying to escape because they couldn't pay the inn bill. Well, they got busted for it. They have a nice little jail cell with their names on it. Talk to the guard, and he will be surprised that you want to free them for 50,000 meseta. After you free them, you get a very useful...50,000 meseta! OK, maybe it's not too useful. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ 6) The Dying Boy - Reward: 10,000 - A little kid in Torinco is faking sick. He doesn't want to go on some vacation with his parents. Go to Termi's Gift Shop and buy an Alys' Sword (Which Chaz can equip) and then go to him. Chaz will demonstrate some cool moves for the kid, and it's a miracle! He's cured! I think 500 for 10,000 meseta is a nice trade, don't you? +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ 7) Man with a Twist - Reward: 0 - A lunatic man let his birds loose and he wants you to exterminate them. They are eating Torinco's crops and messing everything up. Go to the cave to the right of Torinco and find a giant bird that nets you more than 8,000 exp! Then the lunatic comes back and tells you not to kill him. The man doesn't give you anything, but at least you just got 8,000 exp! Macro A: 1. Chaz - Strongest version of Tsu 2. Rune - Strongest spell (Not Efess) 3. Rika - DblSlash 4. Wren - Attack or BurstRoc (If you have it) 5. Raja - Miracle 5. Kyra - Flaeli/Attack This strategy is exactly the same as Fissure of Fear. This guy isn't as tough, so you should do it before the major Dezolis events. Just beat him into the ground and make it beg for mercy. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ 8) The Silver Soldier - Reward: 80,000 - This one is excellent! You get Wren's best skill, Posibolt, and some excellent stuff for him, as well as 80,000 meseta for beating it! :::Cheers::: You'll find out that the computer here was created by Seed, remember the suicidal computer in the beginning of the game? And it has gone crazy. It is going to try to shut down all of the Motavian computer systems that aren't under it's control. It will send some easy robots after you. Defeat them and shut it down, then talk to the old man for your 80,000 meseta. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- vi. Walkthrough ------------------------------------------------------------------------- S************WARNING****************S P P O This section may contain spoilers O I and information you may want to I L find out for yourself. Be warned! L E E R************WARNING****************R ------CHAPTER I - BASEMENT OF DOOM------ You start the story off in the town of Aiedo. You, Chaz Ashley, and Alys Brangwin head off to Piata for no known reason. When you are traveling there automatically, you are given a brief rundown of the game. When it says you have separated with Alys, you must go right about a screen. When you gain control, go up into the door. Talk to the principal and find out about your mission. Go left down the stair. Right under where the principal's room is, is the stairs to the basement. You find a man named Hahn who wants to find out what has happened to Professor Holt. He joins the party, for a price. When you go downstairs, you will find out that Alys is incredibly strong. She attacks everyone. The first chest contains a Monomate. Before you go downstairs, go right to get 100 Meseta. The third chest contains an Antidote. Now when you go downstairs again, you will find a bunch of broken tubes, and a weird-looking monster. +++++BOSS BATTLE - IGGLANOVA+++++ Macro A Alys - Vortex Chaz - Attack Hahn - Attack HP - 300 This guy has 2 moves, Fission, which sends out a little 'Xanafalgue' and an attack. If anyone's health drops below 10, have either Chaz or Hahn cure them. 5 Vortexes and the Attacks should do the job. +++++BOSS BATTLE - IGGLANOVA+++++ After you beat him, Alys will criticize Chaz's swing being too slow. Go back to the principal's office and he will deny breeding the monsters. You will now meet a man you should remember.... Zio. **TOWN UPDATE: PIATA** (For all updates, the inn price is based on a 5 character party) Tool Store: Monomate - 20 Meseta Inn - 25 Meseta Weapons Store: None Armor Store: None Points of Interest: There is the academy here. You also need to go here for The Missing Student mission. **TOWN UPDATE: PIATA** Go out, and rest. Buy some Monomate, and now head northeast to Birth Valley, a.k.a. -----CHAPTER II - THE TOWN OF STONE------ **TOWN UPDATE: MILE** (For all updates, the inn price is based on a 5 character party) Tool Store: Monomate - 20 Meseta Antidote - 10 Meseta Inn - 50 Meseta Weapons Store: Dagger - 40 Meseta Hunt-Knife - 120 Meseta Steel-Sword - 280 Meseta Boomerang - 80 Meseta Slasher - 160 Meseta Armor Store: Leather-Helmet - 80 Meseta Leather-Crown - 90 Meseta Leather-Band - 70 Meseta Leather-Shield - 140 Meseta Points of Interest: Sand Worm Mission is found here. Close to Zio's Fort. **TOWN UPDATE: MILE** When you reach the town of Mile (Identifiable by the quicksand next to it) go to the item store. It has just stocked Antidotes. Also, check out the Weapons & Armor store. I suggest you buy a Steel Sword, give the 2 Hunting Knives to Hahn, and buy 2 Slashers. If you can't afford all of that, buy 1 Slasher. If you can't afford that, get a Boomerang. Don't forget to equip them! You don't need any armor, so don't worry about buying anything. Leave Mile and head a little ways northeast. When you get to Zema (Birth Valley) go straight up to the cave. If you go north the whole way, you get a Monomate. If you take the first right, you get a Carbon Shield. Equip it with Hahn. He'll need it. After you go down the stairs, go right and get a Carbon Suit. Equip that with Chaz. Check out the guy covering the green door and a little scene will play. You must go south to the town of Molcum to get the Alshline to cure the city of Zema. ------CHAPTER III - THE ALSHLINE IS NOT WHERE IT SEEMS------ **TOWN UPDATE: MOLCUM** (For all updates, the inn price is based on a 5 character party) Tool Store: None Inn - None Weapons Store: None Armor Store: None Points of Interest: Find Rune here! **TOWN UPDATE: MOLCUM** Go south. You will find the city of Molcum. It looks like a normal city as soon as you enter, but when you go up, you will find it is all ashes. You will find someone by the name of Rune. He is extremely powerful, more than twice of Alys' original level. Now head east to the town Krup. **TOWN UPDATE: KRUP** (For all updates, the inn price is based on a 5 character party) Tool Store: Monomate - 20 Meseta Antidote - 10 Meseta Telepipe - 120 Meseta Escapipe - 70 Meseta Inn - 75 Meseta Weapons Store: None Armor Store: Carbon Helmet - 200 Meseta Carbon Crown - 150 Meseta Circlet - 100 Meseta Carbon Suit - 550 Meseta Carbon Shield - 220 Meseta Points of Interest: Nothing here, what a cool town! (There's something here a little later in the game, but find out for yourself) **TOWN UPDATE: KRUP** DO NOT update your leather stuff to carbon, as the next city will have Titan, which is much better. Head north to the Valleymaze. Rune will show off. He will unblock the cave. This cave is pretty straightforward. At the first intersection, go straight through the door for an Antidote. At the second, continue going left. There is nothing if you go up. At the third intersection, go right for 300 meseta. **TOWN UPDATE: TONOE** (For all updates, the inn price is based on a 5 character party) Tool Store: Monomate - 20 Meseta Antidote - 10 Meseta Cure-Paralysis - 120 Meseta Telepipe - 130 Meseta Escapipe - 70 Meseta Inn - 75 Meseta Weapons Store: Hunt-Knife - 120 Meseta Titanium Dagger - 240 Meseta Steel-Sword - 280 Meseta Titanium Sword - 560 Meseta Slasher - 160 Meseta Titanium Slasher - 320 Meseta Armor Store: Circlet - 100 Meseta Titanium Helmet - 570 Meseta Carbon Suit - 550 Meseta Titanium Mail - 1120 Meseta Carbon Shield - 220 Meseta Titanium Shield - 600 Meseta Points of Interest: Find Alshline here, Motavian town, Find Gryz and his family, and Lose Rune. **TOWN UPDATE: TONOE** As soon as you reach Tonoe, make sure you unequip Rune's equipment. To do this, go to the equipment screen, and when you're on Rune's stuff, hit left, and hit A. Do this for his 3 things. Sell his Circlet and his Whitemantle. His Wooden Cane has an extremely useful use that will help a lot. If you use it in a battle, it will act as Res. Upgrade your equipment and go into the top-most house and talk to the guy in the chair. Say yes to each question. After the little scene, Rune and Grandfather Dorin will leave. That gives you Gryz. ------CHAPTER IV - ANOTHER BASEMENT? ------ Go up and left and you'll find another building. Go into it and check out the bulkhead and Gryz will give you a technique to opening it. Go straight up into the path. When you can go right and down, go down. After you go down the stairs, go right, and then go down another flight of stairs. Go to the two treasure chests. One is the Alshline; the other is an Escapipe. Use the Escapipe to leave the Basement, then go to the Tool shop and buy a couple Telepipes. Leave the town and use one. Go to Zema. ------CHAPTER V - SEED OF LIFE ------ Make sure you equip the macros below before entering Zema, as you will not get a break between. Everyone is cured! Professor Holt is going to continue the investigation when... +++++BOSS BATTLE - IGGLANOVA+++++ Make sure you equip the macro below before entering Zema, as you will not get a break between. Macro A Alys - Vortex Chaz - CrossCut Hahn - Wat Gryz - Attack HP - 300 You should remember this guy. He is the same guy from the basement. Just use the A macro and he should be history. +++++BOSS BATTLE - IGGLANOVA+++++ **TOWN UPDATE: ZEMA** (For all updates, the inn price is based on a 5 character party) Tool Store: Monomate - 20 Meseta Antidote - 10 Meseta Cure-Paralysis - 120 Meseta Telepipe - 130 Meseta Escapipe - 70 Meseta Inn - 100 Meseta Weapons Store: Hunt-Knife - 120 Meseta Steel-Sword - 280 Meseta Slasher - 160 Meseta Broad-Axe - 1000 Meseta Armor Store: Circlet - 100 Meseta Carbon Suit - 550 Meseta Graphite Suit - 1200 Meseta Carbon Shield - 220 Meseta Graphite Shield - 900 Meseta Points of Interest: **TOWN UPDATE: ZEMA** You know should go back and buy a Graphite Suit for Hahn, and a Broad-Axe for Gryz, if you have the money. Now go back into Birth Valley and you should remember the way. Take the second right and then left. Now, Holt will not be in the way. Go into the door and you will find a high-tech place with cool music. Now, just go straight until you have 2 elevators. The two things say W3 To West Section and E3 to Central Block. Take the right one to Central Block. When you get to the little bridge part, go right, then down. When you get to the part where you can go right and left through the doors, pick one, because it doesn't matter. When you get to Holt, talk to him. You will meet a "numan" named Rika and Seed. Rika joins your party after talking about the environmental systems that the ancient civilizations created. You will learn of Demi, which Zio has taken hostage. ------CHAPTER VI.A - TAKE A BREAK - YOU EARNED IT! ------ As soon as you leave Zema, head north over the bridge. You get to see demolished houses **TOWN UPDATE: NALYA** Sign up in the Hunter's Guild for The Ranch Owner mission. See the Hunter's Guild Missions for a walkthrough. While you're in the Hunter's Guild, you might as well get some stuff. Go on the very right part of it and there's a door. In the first room, that's self-explanatory. In the second room, there is a costume place. In the third room, the Hunter's Guild Mission Lady gets mad at you for insinuating that she's keeping the best jobs for herself. In the fourth and last room, there's a trimate and 1000 meseta. Now go buy some new stuff for your people. Then go east to Nalya. There isn't much here. You just need it for your Ryuka power. Now is a good time to stick around and fight some Scoripuses. Don't go into the Wreckage to the northwest of Nalya yet. Wait until you get Demi, or there will be no point. If you do decide to level up here, I strongly suggest you set up this macro: Hahn - Wat Alys - Zan Rika - Attack Chaz - Attack Gryz - Attack Put it in that order because Hahn is slower than Alys, which will lower the chance of it being interrupted, and Rika is faster than Chaz, who is faster than Gryz. You can use it in any situation and walk out victorious. 3 Scoripuses will give you a whopping 150 exp! TIP: Never stay in the Aiedo Hotel. Always go to your house to sleep. It will save you 250 meseta. It's not that much, but it's essential in the beginning of the game. When you're satisfied with your levels, head on over to Mile and exterminate those Sandworms! At the time of writing this FAQ, I was on level 8 with everyone, Gryz died, and everyone skipped a few levels and went to 12 :) With the 6500 Meseta, you could buy Saber-claws for Rika, and a Ceramic Sword for Chaz. Or you could just get a Struggle Axe or armor. ------CHAPTER VI.B - HOSTAGE NEGOTIATIONS ------ After leveling, you should be able to enter the cave north of Aiedo. Warning: This place is very tough. I walked out with only Gryz and Rika! It is called the Passageway. Take the first down for a Dimate. The second down to continue (straight is nothing) Take the left and continue down to exit. **TOWN UPDATE: KADARY** (For all updates, the inn price is based on a 5 character party) Tool Store: Monomate - 20 Meseta Dimate - 160 Meseta Antidote - 10 Meseta Cure-Paralysis - 120 Meseta Telepipe - 130 Meseta Escapipe - 70 Meseta Inn - 200 Meseta Weapons Store: None Armor Store: None Points of Interest: Zio's Cult, Zio's Fort, Spacestation (Not yet), The Missing Student **TOWN UPDATE: KADARY** Enter Zio's fort. When you go in, you'll see a staircase in a room. When you try to enter the room, a force field stops you. Do not worry about this, as you will have nothing to do down there until later in the game. Now, go either right or left past the room (it doesn't matter) search the whole fort for items. When you're done, go up the left staircase. Avoid the pit, and go to the opposite side of it. Then, go to the hallway. Now, go up the stairs with the pit, and go left. Then talk to the man to initiate +++++BOSS BATTLE: JUVA+++++ Macro A: Alys: Saner Gryz: War Cry Rika: Deban Hahn: (Gi)wat Chaz: Airslash Macro B: Alys: Vortex Gryz: Attack Rika: Dblslash Hahn: (Gi)wat Chaz: Crosscut First, start with Macro A. Then continue using Macro B and this guy should be peanut butter pies. +++++BOSS BATTLE: JUVA+++++ I suggest you go outside and save it. Not only because you beat a boss, but to get an opportunity for healing as well. You have to go upstairs to a straightforward path. Unequip Hahn's and Alys' stuff (See Tonoe for how to unequip) You will meet a VERY useful character, Demi. The battle with Zio is extremely short. Zio will cast Magic Barrier, which will eliminate all damage to him (Except for 1 damage from) then he will cast Nightmare, then Black Wave on Chaz. Now you will initiate a scene. You retreat and Alys is severely injured. ------CHAPTER VII - SPEAK, ROVER, SPEAK! ------ Alys is very sick. When you gain control, leave Krup. Go south, but go left at the fork. When you get to a certain point, a thing will come out of the ground. This is the Machine Center. Enter, get the control key, heal, whatever, and go down. You will get the Land Rover. To get back in if you exit, use it as an item. Go right, and through the quicksand to Monsen. **TOWN UPDATE: MONSEN** (For all updates, the inn price is based on a 5 character party) Tool Store: Monomate - 20 Meseta Dimate - 160 Meseta Antidote - 10 Meseta Cure-Paralysis - 120 Meseta Telepipe - 130 Meseta Escapipe - 70 Meseta Inn - 225 Meseta Weapons Store: None Armor Store: None Points of Interest: You meet Tinkerbell's Dog here if you sign up for the mission. This is also the rest point for battling Sand Worms! **TOWN UPDATE: TERMI** I think now is time to get Demi acquainted with Meta Slugs. If you fight two Zol Slugs who turn into a Meta Slug, you rack up 500 EXP! Get everyone up at least 2 or 3 levels, because Ladea Tower is no creampuff. When you get through it, the top part holds +++++BOSS BATTLE: GY-LAGUIAH+++++ Macro A: Demi: Barrier Gryz: War Cry Rika: Saner Chaz: Crosscut Rune: Giwat Macro B: Demi: Phonon Gryz: Attack Rika: Dblslash Chaz: Zan Rune: Giwat Macro C: Demi: Medic Power Gryz: Attack Rika: Dblslash Chaz: Zan Rune: Giwat First, use Macro A. Then, use Macro B until Demi's Phonon wears out. Then continue with Macro C. This guy is toast, and the Psycho-Wand is yours! +++++BOSS BATTLE: GY-LAGUIAH+++++ You go straight to Krup and Alys shares her last words with Chaz. Alys dies. -----CHAPTER VIII - THE NURVUS SYSTEM----- After you leave, you must go back to Zio's Fort. Now, Rune shows off what the Psycho-wand is for. Now, you can go down to Zio's Basement...Nurvus! Nurvus should be easy to navigate through. When you get to the second bridge-like thing, stop, and equip these macros. +++++BOSS BATTLE: ZIO+++++ Macro A: Demi: Barrier Rika: Saner Gryz: War Cry Rune: Psycho-Wand Chaz: Crosscut Macro B: Demi: Phonon Rika: Deban Gryz: War Cry Chaz: Crosscut Rune: Gifoi Macro C: Demi: Medic Power Rika: Dblslash Gryz: Attack Chaz: Githu Rune: Gifoi Macro D: Demi: Attack Rika: Dblslash Gryz: Attack Chaz: Githu Rune: Gifoi Zio is very tough to a beginner. Use Macro A, then Macro B until Phonon is gone, then use Macro C until Medic Power is gone, then use Macro D for the rest of the battle. Make sure that you use Psycho-wand before you attack at all. Rune doesn't need to use it, but Chaz's Crosscut just does a lot more damage than Gifoi. +++++BOSS BATTLE: ZIO+++++ Now, you lose Demi, but you get Wren at Zelan. Wren is like Demi, with power. Wren doesn't have Medic Power, but he is considerably stronger. You also lose Gryz too. -----CHAPTER IX.A - IS ZELAN THE PROBLEM?----- Now, here is another intermission. While you don't have any androids, now is the best time to level up. Go into Nurvus. Have Chaz use anti, and Rika use Res on Rune. Have Rune defend. Also, unequip Chaz and Rika's equipment. While Rune is blocking, he will take 1 damage. While Chaz and Rika are doing useless things with no protection, they will die quickly. Now, when they are dead, find Tarantellas. These little buggers give you a ton of EXP, and Rune can wipe them all out with Hewn. Rune will be gaining levels in no time. Once you get Gigra, you can also use that to take out the Tarantellas. You can go back out to heal once you see fit, go back in, and repeat. I suggest you get Rune up to level 29. He learns one of the best skills in the game. E F E S S. When paired with Crosscut...it's a Dark Force Destroyer. It can do up to 800 damage. The problem with Efess is that it only works on certain monsters. When used on others, it does a whopping 1 damage! -----CHAPTER IX.B - IS ZELAN THE PROBLEM?----- When you use the Spaceship to Zelan, you will find 6 items, 3 on both sides, and Wren. He will join your party. Then, when going to Kuran, you will meet Chaos Sorcerer. Defeat him. He isn't too tough. With Wren in your party, it shouldn't be too hard. Have everyone use their best attacks, and you will come out victorious. -----CHAPTER X - THE TEMPLE CRASH----- You find out that there is another spaceship at the Parmanian city of Tyler. You take Raja along. He is like Rika, in which that he heals like mad. He has an EXCELLENT skill, Ataraxia. This restores the party's TP!! Now, when you go north, you'll run into a tiny town. **TOWN UPDATE: RYUON** (For all updates, the inn price is based on a 5 character party) Tool Store: Monomate - 20 Meseta Dimate - 160 Meseta Antidote - 10 Meseta Cure Paralysis - 120 Meseta Telepipe - 130 Meseta Escapipe - 70 Meseta Inn - 500 Meseta Weapons Store: Force Cane - 2500 Meseta Silver Rod - 2700 Meseta Armor Store: Silver Mantle - 7300 Meseta Silver Circlet - 3000 Meseta Points of Interest: First Dezolian town! Check it out, and it will move revealing a staircase. Go through here, and you will find a nice spaceship! Now, head to Kuran. There's only really one item that you must, absolutely get. Hyper-Jammer. It is right above the first fork. If you go down, you get a Repair-Kit. If you go up, you get the Jammer. If you go straight, there's an elevator. Now, get through Kuran. When Rika says that there's something in the shadows, that's when you equip macros for... +++++BOSS BATTLE: DARK FORCE+++++ Macro A: Wren - Barrier Rika - Saner Chaz - Githu Rune - Nagra (Or Nawat, if you don't have that) Raja - Blessing Macro B: Wren - Flare Rika - Dblslash Chaz - Crosscut Rune - Efess Raja - Ataraxia Macro C: Wren - Flare Rika - Dblslash Chaz - Githu Rune - Nagra (Or Nawat, if you don't have that) Raja - St. Fire Macro D: Wren - Flare Rika - Dblslash Chaz - Githu Rune - Nagra (Or Nawat, if you don't have that) Raja - Sar Use Macro A once. Not too much here. A handful of people are induced with the Black Wave sickness, and when you talk to the Espers upstairs in the former inn, Raja is added to the list. **TOWN UPDATE: MEESE** **TOWN UPDATE: JUT** (For all updates, the inn price is based on a 5 character party) Tool Store: Trimate - 400 Meseta Antidote - 10 Meseta Cure-Paralysis - 120 Meseta Telepipe - 130 Meseta Escapipe - 70 Meseta Inn - 750 Meseta Weapons Store: Laco Sword - 20400 Meseta Laco Dagger - 9400 Meseta Laco Claw - 10200 Meseta Laco Slasher - 21600 Meseta Armor Store: Reflect Mail - 26800 Meseta Reflect Robe - 18400 Meseta Reflect Shield - 15600 Meseta Points of Interest: This place is almost like a Dezolian Aiedo. **TOWN UPDATE: JUT** Now I suggest you go to a little place called Myst Valley. It is directly north of Tyler. You get the excellent Silver Tusk for Rika, which is a very strong weapon. Now, go to the town of Reshel. Directly north of it is the Climate Center. When you enter, you meet an old friend, Gy-Laguiah. This place is chock- full of items, and easy enemies, so don't worry too much. Now, when you're done with that, go south of Reshel, then south of Meese, go southwest of Jut, and you'll run into the Weapons Plant. You get Wren's Burst Rocket here. You also get various weapons and armor. To demolish Raja for an Alys-Rune mix, go to Meese. Unequip Raja, and then go to the previous inn. Go upstairs, and talk to the Esper in the right-hand room. Raja will fall. Then you will hear word that Kyra has gone for Garubek Tower. You will then have to go to the carnivorous trees. As soon as you get there, escape from the battle. Ultimately, you cannot beat these things, and you don't get EXP from beating up on them. Now, go to the Esper Mansion southwest of Meese. Navigate your way into the center of the mansion. When the guards see Rune, they let them go. Now, go into the building. I won't ruin this part, because I thought it was cool. When it's all done, exit the building and Ryuka to Gumbious Temple. Now, go upstairs, and talk to the Dezolian in black. He won't lend you the Eclipse Torch. Then, 3 guys teleport in, and steal it. Then the Dezolian gets worried. You say that you will retrieve the Torch, as long as you can use it. He agrees. Now, go to your Spacestation. -----CHAPTER XII - THE LAST OF PARMA----- Now, take off for the Air Castle. When you get there, you'll find that the atmosphere and gravity are perfect. Wren knows that this is an artificial environment. Now, navigate through this place, and when you're in a big checkered room, prepare for a +++++BOSS BATTLE: XE-A-THOULS+++++ Macro A: Wren - Barrier Rika - Saner Chaz - Crosscut Rune - Efess Kyra - Warla Macro B: Wren - Burstroc Rika - Dblslash Chaz - Crosscut Rune - Efess Kyra - Medice Macro C: Wren - Recover Rika - Most powerful version of Sar Chaz - Crosscut Rune - Efess Kyra - Medice Use Macro A once, then Macro B until you need to heal, then Macro C, then continue using B. These thugs are pretty easy compared to the last battle. Rayblade will pull off ~400 damage, but GrandCross beats it to an extreme ~700 damage! Make sure you focus all of your single attacks on one guy, so they don't pull off any combos, like that thunder one. Now, you must go and face Lashiec! +++++BOSS BATTLE: XE-A-THOULS+++++ Now, go up and the circle will bring you back to the perfect condition. I suggest you Hinas out of here and you save at Motavia and level up or something. Now, when you're ready, re-enter the castle, and continue going straight. When you get down to the basement, you'll start on the right side. You must go all the way down, switch to the left side, and come all the way back up. Then, you'll do what Lutz couldn't do. +++++BOSS BATTLE: LASHIEC+++++ Macro A: Wren - Barrier Rika - Saner Chaz - Crosscut Rune - Efess Kyra - Warla Macro B: Wren - Burstroc Rika - Dblslash Chaz - Crosscut Rune - Efess Kyra - Medice Macro C: Wren - Recover Rika - Most powerful version of Sar Chaz - Crosscut Rune - Efess Kyra - Medice Use the same strategy as the Xe-A-Thouls. This guy is extremely tough. I hope you stocked up on Repair Kits from the Weapons Plant! This guy has 3 moves. Another Gate, which does damage to everyone. Thunder Albert? Will damage everyone with Thunder-element damage...watch Wren's HP! And Possession, which merely puts someone to sleep. This guy can kill off your party in 1-2 hits if you're not extremely careful! +++++BOSS BATTLE: LASHIEC+++++ Now that you've defeated him, the Air Castle will crumble. You will show the Dezolian the Eclipse Torch and he is extremely happy. Now, head on over to those Carnivorous Trees. -----CHAPTER XIII - DOUBLE TROUBLE----- The Carnivorous Trees will die. Go into Garubek Tower. Touch the two eyeballs and then go find... +++++BOSS BATTLE: DARK FORCE II+++++ Macro A: Wren - Barrier Rika - Saner Chaz - Crosscut Rune - Efess Kyra - Warla Macro B: Wren - Burstroc Rika - Dblslash Chaz - Crosscut Rune - Efess Kyra - Nafoi Macro C: Wren - Recover Rika - Most powerful Sar Chaz - Crosscut Rune - Efess Kyra - Medice Macro D: Wren - Flare Rika - Dblslash Chaz - Crosscut Rune - Efess Kyra - Nafoi Dark Force II is no pushover. If you use the Crosscut + Efess combo the whole time, you have a very good chance of succeeding. I suggest that you watch out for his Light Shower attack, because it hurts Wren very badly. Otherwise, you should hope for the best. I suggest you unequip Kyra's stuff, if you can, because she will leave right after the battle. +++++BOSS BATTLE: DARK FORCE II+++++ Now, you get the extremely cool Hydrofoil from Demi. This can cross waters! Now, I suggest you go to the temple next to Krup. You meet a man named Seth. He joins your group. Now is probably the best time to finish the last 4 Hunter's Guild missions. **TOWN UPDATE: UZO** (For all updates, the inn price is based on a 5 character party) Tool Store: Trimate - 400 Meseta Antidote - 10 Meseta Cure-Paralysis - 120 Meseta Telepipe - 130 Meseta Escapipe - 70 Meseta Inn - 400 Meseta Weapons Store: None Armor Store: None Points of Interest: This place is on an island! When you get there, try to go up as many stairs as possible. When you get to the temple, unequip Seth, give someone his armor, and get the Aero-Prism. Then, equip these macros, and when you leave.... +++++BOSS BATTLE: DARK FORCE III+++++ Macro A: Wren - Barrier Rika - Saner Chaz - Crosscut Rune - Efess Seth - Attack Macro B: Wren - Burstroc Rika - Dblslash Chaz - Crosscut Rune - Efess Seth - Attack Macro C: Wren - Recover Rika - Most powerful Sar Chaz - Crosscut Rune - Efess Seth - Attack Macro D: Wren - Posibolt Rika - Dblslash Chaz - Crosscut Rune - Efess Seth - Attack Macro E: Wren - Attack Rika - Dblslash Chaz - Nathu Rune - Legeon Seth - Attack It doesn't matter what Seth does, because Seth is DF3! As soon as you get into the fight, use Macro A. Then use Macro B until you need to heal, use C. Then continue using Macro B until you run out of Burstroc. Then use Macro D once, and then use Macro E until the finish. +++++BOSS BATTLE: DARK FORCE III+++++ Now, the Aero-Prism will show you the way to... -----CHAPTER XIV - THE PROTECTOR'S PLANET----- As soon as you get to Rykros, you'll hear Le Roof. He will tell you to go to the Strength and Courage Towers to prove that you are really protectors. I suggest you go through both before you go through one. "What do you mean?" You ask. Get all of the items. Items include some great weapons, armor, and dews. +++++BOSS BATTLE: DE-VARS+++++ Macro A: Wren - Barrier Rika - Saner Chaz - Rayblade/Crosscut (It doesn't matter) Rune - Tandle (Efess and elemental techniques are a NO!) Then use B. Then keep using C until you need to heal. Then use D. Use Sol-Dews (Buy them at Meese) if someone dies. In my opinion, this is the toughest guy so far. He is very difficult. He can do a lot of damage to everyone, or kill someone almost instantaneously. +++++BOSS BATTLE: DE-VARS+++++ +++++BOSS BATTLE: SA-LEWS+++++ Macro A: Wren - Barrier Rika - Saner Chaz - Rayblade/Crosscut (It doesn't matter) Rune - Legeon Macro B: Wren - Posibolt Rika - Dblslash Chaz - Rayblade/Crosscut Rune - Legeon Macro C: Wren - Attack Rika - Dblslash Chaz - Rayblade/Crosscut Rune - Tandle Macro D: Wren - Recover Rika - Most powerful version of Sar Chaz - Rayblade/Crosscut Rune - Tandle Use Macro A. I wasted like 20 Sol-Dews on the other one, and I only used 3 on this one. I suggest that you use Legeon. He can use Legeon. Good luck! +++++BOSS BATTLE: SA-LOWS+++++ Now, go back to the Spaceport. Le Roof will give you the story so far. Then, Rune will say to go to the Esper Mansion. When you get there, go to where Lutz was. Now, Rune will open the door. He'll tell you to get the Elysdeon. Before you examine the statue, unequip your sword. Then, the statue will tell you stuff. Now, you can go to "The Edge" where The Profound Darkness resides. I suggest you take either Raja or Demi for this, because they have excellent healing moves. You can try out the new combos, like Paladin Blow, Holocaust, and Conduct Thunder. Don't try to see who can equip the Rykros ring, because no one can. Sadly, everyone in Mile is gone. -----CHAPTER XV - THE GRAND FINALE----- All the enemies except one can be killed with an Instant Death attack. The black sheep is Prophallis. This guy has about 3000 HP and he gives you 13099 EXP. Now, I think you should level up a bit, because The Profound Darkness is one tough cookie. I think you should max out on money to buy as many Sol-Dews as you can afford. Don't worry about using them during the final battle, because there's nothing after it :) If you chose Demi.... +++++BOSS BATTLE: THE PROFOUND DARKNESS+++++ Macro A: Wren: Attack Chaz: Crosscut Rune: Efess Rika: Dblslash Demi: Medic Power For this battle, the only macro you'll need is A. I suggest you do everything else manually, because there's going to be a lot of healing. +++BATTLE ONE: PD I+++ For this guy, only use Rayblade, Attacks, Tandle, and some magic. It's ok if you use a couple Sol-Dews here, there's plenty to go around. This guy is about the equivalent to DF2, if you fought him now. Don't worry too much about this guy. If you die, you're either doing something wrong, or you're not so high of a level. I think that you should be about level 40 or higher. +++BATTLE TWO: PD II+++ This guy is about DF3. I think you can use all of your Megid now, because during PF3, Chaz will be busy with GrandCross. Now, this guy is tougher than the previous, but nothing too hard. If you can save as many Sol-Dews as possible, that would be very good. Don't feel too bad if you die, because this guy is kind of tough. When you think you've done enough damage, heal, and then continue. +++FINAL BATTLE: PD III+++ Use everything you've got! Pull out all the stops, don't hold back, because this is a very tough battle! It's like all of the Dark Forces and transformations before this put together! He'll try his best to break up GrandCross, so don't feel bad if he does. Rika's going to be curing most of the time. If Rune runs out of Efess, have him use Legeon, and if he runs out of that, use Tandle. If Chaz runs out of Crosscut (Which he shouldn't) Have him use Megid, if you didn't use it up during the previous fight, or use Rayblade. Have Wren attack every turn. Have Demi use Phonon every turn, unless all of the humans are dead, then let her whip out Medic Power. Take note that Medic Power only heals humans, and not herself and Wren. +++++BOSS BATTLE: PROFOUND DARKNESS+++++ If you chose Hahn.... +++++BOSS BATTLE: THE PROFOUND DARKNESS+++++ Macro A: Wren: Attack Chaz: Crosscut Rune: Efess Rika: Dblslash Hahn: Astral For this battle, the only macro you'll need is A. I think Seals silences an enemy's techniques, but I maybe wrong since it's been quite a while since I've played PS4.. 3. Chaz's Explode skill attempts instant kill on an enemy, not dealing damage 4. Seth has only _skills_, not techniques... 5. Raja's Holyword only works on "evil" enemies.. I'm not sure on #2, so I'll leave it unconfirmed until someone tells me something else, and they're sure of it, or they confirm it.
