Essentially these are pieces of hockey equipment named after a famous player. The equipment gives added bonuses to the player who wears it, such as better Shooting or Checking. First off, in order to access said equipment, you need to start a franchise team, which you can find on the main menu. You can gain new pieces of equipment by completing tasks set for each Franchise match. At the beginning of each match, you will be notified what your task is. Generally it is something like "Make two goals with Player X" or "Allow no more than 3 goals." Something like that. To make this easier, I suggest you change your Line Changes setting to "Manual" so that you have better control of who's on the ice. You can change this setting in your Franchise menu -> Settings -> Game Options. At this point I'm not sure if the tasks to obtain the equipment are set or if they vary every time you play. For now I'm putting what I had to do to get the equipment. If yours varies, please let me know via email (see section 05-00 for Contact Info.). +==============================================================================+ | Hero Equipment.......................................................04-00 | +==============================================================================+ I will now list all of the Hero Equipment along with various values associated with it. "Bonus" lists the stat enchancements that the equipment provides. "Task" is the task you have to perform to gain the equipment. "Namesake" shows the name of the pro that the equipment is named after and some stats about that person, if I find some. All stats are taken from the person's Wikipedia page (denoted by a *). "Icon" shows the color of the equipment's icon, which denotes what type of player the equipment is suited for (ex. Yellow is for "Great Goalie") +===========================================+ | Turco Pads.........................04-01 | +===========================================+ Bonus: +5 Recovery Task: Namesake: Marty Turco - Goaltender for the Dallas Stars NHL Record for Most Shutouts in a Playoff Season (3)* Led NHL with lowest GAA (1.72) in 2002-03* Icon: Yellow - Great Goalie +===========================================+ | Sakic Stick........................04-02 | +===========================================+ Bonus: +7 Shooting Task: Namesake: Joe Sakic - Centre for the Colorado Avalanche NHL - 1st Place: Most points of active players (1589)* 11th Place: Most assists (979)* Playoffs - 1st Place: Most OT goals (8)* Icon: Orange - Sniper +===========================================+ | Giguere Catcher....................04-03 | +===========================================+ Bonus: +10 Agility Task: Namesake: Jean-Sébastien Giguère - Goaltender for the Anaheim Ducks 2007 Stanley Cup Champion* Icon: Yellow - Great Goalie +===========================================+ | Lemieux Gloves.....................04-04 | +===========================================+ Bonus: +10 Passing, +7 Shooting Task: Namesake: Mario Lemieux - Retired Centre for the Pittsburg Penguins Waaaaaaaay more records than I feel like putting here. You probably won't get a reply unless your email incites one, but I will give you credit where it's deserved :) Just sign the email with whatever name you want to be credited by. Don't ask me how to cheat. I'll just ignore your email. LOOK ONLINE for a solution to your problem before you come running to me for help. I'm getting tired of answering peoples' emails who ask questions a 30 second Google search could find. If I don't answer your email within a week, there's a good chance you asked a question that I feel you can find the answer to in less time than it'll take me to write. And for goodness sake make them intelligible. If I have to think beyond the obvious to see what you're trying to say, I'll just delete it. Nothing like: "yo bro, i wuz diong thsi kwest and the dood woodn't appeer. i think my game si haXored. wut shuld i do?" Dear God use actual words and punctuation! Your English teachers should beat you! If English isn't your native language, then I can understand. Otherwise, you should know better. For those of you who do write well, I thank you. +==============================================================================+ | Credits..............................................................06-00 | +==============================================================================+ Thanks to Alternates ASCII Artist v2.0.2 (http://alterlife.org/asciiartist/) for the great ASCII generation program.
