I would welcome it someone would collect >[ such info into a FAQ and make it available to the net. > There is already a vendor directory at http://rever.nmsu.edu/~elharo/faq/vendor.html that contains much of this information. Phone numbers, E-mail addresses,WEB and FTP sites and quite a bit more information is stored for many different vendors. It's not yet possible to store multiple email addresses for different purposes like sales and tech support but I hope to have that fixed in the near future. There's also a "company blurb" field where information like this announcement could have been put. There's even an automated form for submitting information, http://rever.nmsu.edu/~elharo/faq/forms/vendorinfoform.html There are already several dozen vendors listed there, and I'm adding more at the rate of about one a day. I'm also not averse to other people entering information they happen to have, even if they don't work for the company they're submitting contact info for. Most of the largest vendors and most frequently requested ones (like The Chip Merchant) are listed there. In general I give preference to vendors that have WEB and/or ftp sites in deciding how I'll spend my limited time for data entry; but you're always free to enter information about companies you're interested in.
