Engst Our first [1]TidBITS Presents event on 16 June 2012 was a success, with over 200 people joining Joe Kissell and me live via Google+ Hangouts On Air. Joe did a stellar job with his presentation, as I knew he would, and the attendees contributed lots of great questions and comments via Google+ and Twitter (where we congregated using the #tbpresents hashtag). Part of the attraction of Google+ Hangouts On Air is that the video is automatically recorded to YouTube (and our buddy Mike T. Rose of TUAW told us it was even live on YouTube during the event). So, even if you couldn't make the live presentation, if you want to learn about your transition options before MobileMe sunsets on 30 June 2012, you can [2]watch TidBITS Presents: Adieu MobileMe on YouTube at your leisure. The added beauty of having it on YouTube is that you can also watch on an iPad in a comfy chair, on the big screen connected to an Apple TV, or while you're killing time on an iPhone or iPod touch. [EMBED] Please do leave us comments (at the bottom of this article, in [3]the Google+ post, or [4]on YouTube) about both the content of the presentation and (if you watched it live) your technical experience, since we heard from some people during the event that the video was either nonexistent or very choppy. We're still trying to determine just how well Hangouts On Air works for viewers. Thanks for watching, and we hope you find the content useful! Oh, one last thing. Joe mentions a number of services and products and articles in the presentation ' here's a list so you don't have to hunt them all down manually or take notes during the presentation. iDisk Replacements (storage, syncing, sharing) * [5]Dropbox * [6]MacMate * [7]SpiderOak * [8]SugarSync iDisk Replacements (Web hosting) * Macworld: '[9]Switch your iWeb site to a Mac-friendly Web host' * [10]1&1 Web hosting * [11]Dreamhost * [12]MacMate Gallery Replacements * [13]Dropbox * [14]Flickr * [15]Facebook * [16]Picasa Web Albums * [17]ZangZing * [18]iPhoto for iOS Other Products, Services, and Articles * [19]Manage Apple IDs * TidBITS: '[20]Keep Your MobileMe Email Address without iCloud' * [21]BusyCal * TidBITS: '[22]iCal in Snow Leopard Can Participate in iCloud' * [23]Move your MobileMe email account without iCloud * [24]Mail2Web (Exchange hosting) * [25]Fruux * [26]Keychain2Go * '[27]Take Control of iCloud' References 1. http://tidbits.com/tidbits_presents.html 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVwRmXHrFyE 3. https://plus.google.com/106741850554591477322/posts/1WjA6PDGE6e 4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVwRmXHrFyE 5. http://www.dropbox.com/ 6. http://www.macmate.me/ 7. http://www.spideroak.com/ 8. http://www.sugarsync.com/ 9. http://www.macworld.com/article/1166270/ 10. http://www.1and1.com/ 11. http://dreamhost.com/ 12. http://www.macmate.me/ 13. https://www.dropbox.com/ 14. http://www.flickr.com/ 15. http://www.facebook.com/ 16. http://picasaweb.google.com/ 17. http://www.zangzing.com/ 18. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iphoto/id497786065 19. https://appleid.apple.com/ 20. http://tidbits.com/article/13002 21. http://busymac.com/busycal/ 22. http://tidbits.com/article/12669 23. http://www.me.com/move 24. http://www.mail2web.com/ 25. http://www.fruux.com/ 26. http://www.jinx.de/Keychain2Go.html 27. http://www.takecontrolbooks.com/icloud?pt=TBPRESENTS .
