What organizers are calling the "Make Poverty History" march is timed to coincide with the Live Eight rock concerts being held around the world. The organizers had urged demonstrators to show their support by wearing white. In a message read to the demonstrators, Pope Benedict called on wealthy nations to make good on their pledges to reduce world poverty.
