Obama Urges Congress to Take Action on Jobs Bill by VOA News U.S. President Barack Obama accused Congress Saturday of not taking steps to put more Americans back to work. During his weekly address, the president said Republicans in Congress have done nothing to promote passage of his jobs bill. According to Obama, passing the bill would help states hire teachers and public safety workers laid off during the country's economic crisis.
