                Obama Urges Congress to Take Action on Jobs Bill

   U.S. President Barack Obama accused Congress Saturday of not taking
   steps to put more Americans back to work.
   During his weekly address, the president said Republicans in Congress
   have done nothing to promote passage of his jobs bill.  According to
   Obama, passing the bill would help states hire teachers and public
   safety workers laid off during the country's economic crisis.

   The president said it is inexcusable for lawmakers not act on
   beneficial measures to help struggling families until after the
   upcoming November elections.
   In the Republican address, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker accused the
   Obama administration of promoting programs that increase the size and
   debt of government.  Walker said the focus of the country's leadership
   should be on putting more people back to work.  He said taxpayers and
   not special interests should be in charge of government in Washington.
