8 Killed in US Drone Strike in Pakistan

   Pakistan security officials say a U.S. drone strike has killed at least
   eight suspected insurgents.
   Authorities say missiles hit a compound Saturday in the Shawal area of
   the North Waziristan tribal district, along the Afghan border.
   Pakistan has repeatedly called for an end to U.S. drone strikes on
   suspected Taliban sanctuaries in Pakistani territory. Pakistan
   considers the drone strikes a violation of sovereignty that causes
   unacceptable civilian casualties.
   The U.S. has given no indication it intends to halt the drone campaign.
