Weather Situation A high drifting east across southeast Australia will move into the Tasman Sea from Thursday, maintaining a ridge over the east of the state. A patchy cloud band will extend over the state on Friday, contracting eastwards over the weekend. A trough and cold front will move into the far west on Friday and east across the region on Saturday, before contracting to the northeast on Sunday and offshore early next week.
