Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia A broad area of low pressure persists through inland areas. A ridge building to the south will bring a south to southeast wind change to southern Pilbara and southern parts of the North Interior over the weekend. Winds turning easterly early next week will push the inland trough closer to the coast. Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia A ridge will develop across much of southern WA on Sunday, while a trough lies across the Interior. A weak front will brush the south coast on Monday, followed by the west coast trough returning by Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of Sunday 21 December Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and central Interior, most of the Pilbara and far northeast Gascoyne. Light showers possible near the coast east of Esperance, contracting east and clearing in the afternoon and evening. Very hot through the Pilbara, far southwest Kimberley, and northern Gascoyne.
