# The UNIX way  a transcript

To illustrate the UNIX method of using small programs dedicated to
specific tasks and where output of one is the input to another.
The following example shows creating and editing a dynamic playlist
using four distinct programs:

* ls (list files)
* rlwrap (provide searchable command history and command line editing)
* ed (the standard UNIX text editor)
* mpg123 (mpeg music player)
