# ABOUT KYLE GIVLER

I am Kyle Givler, a software tinkerer and .NET developer.

I build small tools, web applications, protocol experiments, developer
utilities, and game mods. Most of my current work is written in C# and
..NET, with occasional trips into F#, VB.NET, PowerShell, JavaScript,
and whatever else gets the job done.

I prefer software that is useful, fast, understandable, and capable of
running without half the Internet being installed beside it. Many of my
projects begin because I need a tool, become curious about how something
works, or decide an existing program takes eight seconds to do something
that should take fifty milliseconds.

# ABOUT THIS GOPHERHOLE

This site is my small corner of Gopherspace.

It contains project information, technical notes, experiments, links,
and files that do not need an entire modern web application wrapped
around them.

The site is intentionally plain. Gopher is simple, quick, readable, and
pleasantly uninterested in popups, tracking scripts, autoplaying video,
cookie banners, or redesigning itself every six months.

This gopherhole is also the live production home of HappyGopher, a
Gopher server I wrote in C# and .NET. Building the server began as an
experiment in implementing an old protocol and became a useful excuse
to maintain an actual Gopher site.

A fast web utility that chooses a random game from a public Steam
library.

ReaperShell
An experimental .NET shell with reloadable command packs written
as normal C#, F#, or VB.NET projects.

Performance-focused mods, refactors, and a framework for building
more maintainable RimWorld mods.
