HOW TO LOAD BLACKBERRY OS USING BBSAK
       =====================================

       By Reginald Chan[1]

THE TRUTH OF THE DEVILISH BBSAK

BBSAK is also known as BlackBerry
Swiss Army Knife and to many, this
       program or application could easily
bring many mishap especially when you
are using it with BlackBerry. In fact,
I always consider BBSAK as one of the
best tool one can use for their
       BlackBerry devices especially when it
comes to wiping and loading a new OS.

There is no tricks behind the curtain
when you use BBSAK and thus, you
should not worry about it. Many times,
people are afraid as they heard many
       unfortunate events happened when
       others are using BBSAK.

BBSAK is a great tool when it comes to
wiping and loading OS on BlackBerry.

HOW TO WIPE AND LOAD BLACKBERRY OS
       USING BBSAK

The main reason I created this is
because I just can't find a guide on
how to use BBSAK. I even tried to find
for a few days and non that is good
appears on the radar which leads me to
create this simple guide for all
BlackBerry users. BBSAK is a perfect
tool when it comes to wiping and
clearing all those useless junks in
the BlackBerry and I always consider
it works better than Loader.exe at
times. I would say BBSAK is definitely
a must-have for all hybrid junkies.

WHAT DO YOU NEED BEFORE RUNNING BBSAK?

       *BBSAK program (duh!)
       *Network Framework 2.0 or higher

       GUIDE FOR DUMMIES: USING BBSAK!

       Without wasting anymore time, let's
head down to the steps. Always follow
the step by step guide provided here
and you will be just fine. Trust me. I
did it almost a hundred times (or
       more)!

       1. Rule of thumb: Always backup.

As low chance as something could go
       terribly wrong, always backup your
device. Make it a point to backup your
       BlackBerry before every upgrade,
       downgrade and anything in between.
Here, you are given a choice to backup
apps, data or both. I usually just
backup the data and for the BlackBerry
apps, I will redownload them all over
again. Fresh download is always better
       than restoration.

       2. Plug in the USB cable to your phone
and run BBSAK (pretty straight forward
       and no rocket science).

       3. Now, a box might pop up if your
BlackBerry has password lock. Key in
the password at the space provided. If
you do not have a password, don't
sweat! Just press OK to skip.

       4. Now, you will be able to see your
BlackBerry PIN showing up at the
counter. This step is vital as you
will only see the PIN if the
       BlackBerry is connected correctly to
BBSAK. In the case if you can't see
it, just unplug and start back from
       step 2.

       5. Head towards the option to Wipe
Device and as a reminder, you should
definitely backup your phone if you
haven't as after this button, all data
will be wipe. Trust me when I say
       BBSAK wipes your data completely.

       6. Now you are all set and ready for a
complete wipe using BBSAK. Press Wipe
       Device.

       Important notes:

       *BBSAK will automatically delete
       your Vendor file

*Always install the OS into the
       computer before using BBSAK

       *Backup your BlackBerry devices
       is vital

       Wait! There are more steps!
       ===========================

       7. Patience is a virtue here. Wait for
awhile before a pop up box appears
       saying 'Wipe Completed'.

       8. The phone will auto reboot by
itself and do not unplug the USB
cable. After reboot, you will see the
scary white screen with Error 507.

       9. Before you go into cardiac arrest,
let me tell you that this is normal!
Error 507 means there is no OS found
in your BlackBerry because of BBSAK
(remember I told you BBSAK wipe
       everything?). Again, strictly do not
       unplug the cable.

       10. I am going to assume you have
       already installed the desired
       BlackBerry OS in your computer.
Therefore, select the option to Load
       OS.

       11. Now, another screen will pop up
and the rest is pretty clear cut. This
is the installation procedure from now
       on.

There you go. A simple 11-steps guide
in how to wipe and load OS on
BlackBerry using BBSAK. Do not worry
as BBSAK is not a 'devil'. It is a fun
device and is much easier to use
       compared to Loader.exe. Good luck!
