DIR <- Back Intensify gopher-over-tor usage =============================== These days it's common practice to post "plain" gopher links (like gopher://kroovy.de). But within the scope of our Gopher Onion Initiative, we should intensify the use of gopher://*.onion URIs. Programs like Evil_Bob's paste-service[1] can easily changed to produce *.onion URIs. Of course there might be some cases, in which it's not that easy to access the tor network. For example if you're in a restricted network, or aren't able to use your own computer. Also we will have to think about how to handle .onion URIs when using a gopherproxy: Even if the gopherproxy would be an onion-service we would break the end-to-end encryption which a user might not expect. Still I think the default should become a .onion link. [1] http://codemadness.org/paste-service.html
