lucid.observer is a small server hosted on a 80mb/s cable internet at studio ponnuki. The question or the experiment that I am conducting, is: Can technology help a small tribe of like minded people to connect, create and help each other? How small of a tribe can it be? What is the smallest amount of technology that would be required to do that? How accessible and useful this solution would be? In a hyper-connected world, with mega computer in each one's pocket, it's hard to think we would ever need a small computer to help connect people together. But technology come at a cost. Cost of our own well being, and our freedom. A cost to our environment as well as our sanity. Communication theory has won the game over our mind. Marketing, media and news are now all well tuned to keep us in a uncomfortable trance. We slowly disolve in an ever expanding media reality. De-digitizing our life is a good way to regain part of our humanity, yet technology can help bring ideas and people togheter. lucid.observer is a way to experiment with this idea, lowering the digital dependency while improving the quality of our digital life. These are just ideas to get the conversation going, an overview of the directions and goals. It will change and the experiment move forward.
