# gemini “go to parent” poll January 13, 2022 Yay more Gemini meta from me, I'm sure everyone's excited :P. Before you go removing my gemlog from your aggregator in disgust, I have an NEC PC-8201A arriving tomorrow and plan to post about some fun with that so just hang on a bit longer. Yesterday I saw Acidus' post on using the “up button” (more commonly “go to parent”) to navigate capsules: “Up Buttons for exploring capsules”: gemini://gemi.dev/gemlog/2022-01-12-up-buttons.gmi If you look, I have “go back” links scattered all over on all of my capsule's pages. However, no matter how relative I make them they make my capsule very brittle and difficult to rearrange and move stuff around because I have to update *all* of those links. It'd be great if I could remove them, I'd just patch Kineto to add them back in on my web mirror and everything would be good. So I threw together a poll to see 1) do people's browsers support the “go to parent” function; and 2) do people actually use that function to browse Gemini? I'd appreciate it if you went and answered :) Go to the poll: /cgi-bin/go-up/poll.sh View current results: /cgi-bin/go-up/results.sh Unfortunately responses are per-IP rather than per-client-cert because I'm lazy and I didn't want to require people to use a client certificate to answer. Your IP is not shared anywhere and I'll delete all traces of it once I close the poll.
