When I started writing some stuff in Ami Pro (OS/2) a while back I quickly learned that the conversion stuff is a bit of a nightmare. Between software of the same era (e.g. to WP 5.1) it kinda works, but bringing it forward in time - especially if using fancy stuff like headers, footers and footnotes - is very hard. And it's like you lose information with every generation you move forward. Or, in cases where filters still exist for old WP, those are worse and more lossy today than 20 years ago. @nina_kali_nina @tomjennings

So I got myself a couple of IBM PS/2 model P70 386[1] luggable computers. I see they're quite the fad in some corners of the Retroverse, so I thought I'd pull my usual shenanigans and install OS/2 on one. I went with version 2.11 which is probably the most lightweight version, while also being really beautiful. I'll document my travails in this thread..Stay tuned, more to come!Image: My P70 duing the initial attempts at booting the OS/2 2.11 installation floppies.[1] https://www.ardent-tool.com/8573/P70_Project.html#Retrocomputing #Installfest #Retrohardware #IBM #OS2
