Moving Target System: Yesterday I shared a message from John Farnam, in which he praised the Better Bilt Rotator target. I must be slowing down with age. I have become very leery of using steel targets because of potential ricochets but I failed to make the connection that one of the list members did: Regarding the moving targets mentioned in this morning's mailing: I sometimes practice with a cheap version of an active target. I use a wooden stake about 6 feet long and tether inflated penny balloons to it with a length of string. For this to work well, there must be some cross wind. The balloons move around in an erratic pattern as the wind blows and can be very difficult to hit. The difficulty can be adjusted a bit by varying the size to which the balloons are inflated. I use it to practice for hunting and never really thought about the defensive side of it. Give it a shot (pardon the pun) and see what you think. --- Ted Nugent Profiled: Interview with Ted Nugent includes an unconfirmed report that he hosted Secret Service agents for a shooting session at his Crawford ranch. http://www.dailysentinel.com/hp/content/gen/ap/TX_Ted_Nugent.html --- Strange Bill In Illinois: A bill making its way through the Illinois legislature would require background checks for all gun-show purchases by would require the state police to destroy purchase records after 90 days. http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-guns16.html --- Determination: An 80-year-old Arkansas store owner is back on the job after having been shot in the chest with a .45 and having killed one of the robbers with his .38.
