So...there is no means to authenticate, meaning, you can post as
anyone, and, in fact, even usurp someone else's username.
That could get both amusing and confusing.
       1214. urd4ddy 2012-02-04 18:59:36
Indeed...but if I could get my hands on the serverside software, I'm
sure I could alter that so that authentication was required,
which I would attempt before using such a board on my own gopherspace.
Mind you, I would only require username:password information,
and not any other identifying information, so that users would/could
still, essentially, be anonymous, but so that you could at least
identify sufficiently that users and anons could not usurp another's
name and thus confound matters greatly.
       1215. anon 2012-02-04 19:00:07
then again, the serverside is apparently in a lang I've never seen before.
       1218. anon 2012-02-09 11:06:26
why the hell would you want to authenticate on a *chan?

I'm with y0urm0m on this one.
Having a username:password doesn't deny you the ability to be
anonymous, it just means that nobody can impersonate you.

What language IS the serverside software written in?

The server-side code is written in Python I believe.
