------------------------------------------------------------------- +title: Follow Up: I really tried to understand "wokeness" +date: Thu, 18 Dec 2025 09:12:27 +0100 +author: -fab- ------------------------------------------------------------------- I got a question from Ben Collver to my post "I really tried to understand wokeness"[1]. It was an objective and not unfriendly email, asking me, what things I did "try" (to cite myself) to understand "wokeness" But it seemed to me to be a very practical question to what is a mental process: the formation of opinions. And I wrote a post in March 2024 in which I wrote about my intention to change[2]. But over time I build up a resistance again against all the wokeness opinions which some posts wanted to put down my throat. And they seem not to be allowed to question and being forced on the people. @Sandra already doesn't seem to talk to me anymore, since I announced my opinion that we should increase the European nuclear weapons arsenal in order to deter the Russian threat in my tinylog. So to get back to Bens question: I didn't actively "practice" wokeness, I mainly hold myself back, when somebody spoke out loudly about their woke ideas, which seem to be just introduced to change society just to make an influence. I did read other peoples posts, think about it and formed an opinion. But that doesn't deceive me to what the wokeness people really are: A very loud minority who wants to re-educate the population to their own, sometimes very strange beliefs. And another opinion: I think the wokeness movement does mislead our youth, especially those extreme left-wing kindergarteners and teachers, which should be weeded out because they have extreme influence on our children. But I also think that a nation should protect it's minorities, but wokeness is generally speaking the wrong way. All in all - Have fun. -fab- [1:] gopher://redterminal.org:70/0/phlog/2025-12-16-I_really_tried_to_understand_wokeness.txt [2:] gemini://redterminal.org/gemlog/2024-03-11-I_needed_to_adjust_myself_to_fit_in.gmi
