A short log of troubleshooting adventures with my Lenovo
ThinkStation P510.
What started as a simple click and no power mystery turned into
a proper PSU replacement story.
- 🔌 Part 1: Lenovo P510 PSU Click – No Power Until Press + Reseat
DIR Lenovo P510 PSU Click – No Power Until Press + Reseat Fix
The system wouldn't power on - only a faint PSU click. Reseating
the GPU and RAM, plus holding the power button, brought it back
(temporarily).
- 🔄 Part 2: The Temporary Fix Wasn't Enough – PSU Replacement
DIR The Temporary Fix Wasn't Enough – PSU Replacement
The earlier fix didn't last. Eventually, the PSU gave up for good
and had to be replaced. The true root cause revealed itself after
a few false recoveries.
-+- 💠Takeaway
Sometimes a dying PSU can imitate logic faults or bad components.
If the click keeps coming back - don't fight it too long, just
replace the power supply like I should have done in the first
place.
