!Christy's 5 questions --- agk's diary 18 August 2023 @ 17:03 UTC --- written on GPD Win 1 in living room while fan revolves, cicadas whisper --- I love to answer Christina's questions; read others' answers. She wrote 5 for August! gopher://sdf.org:70/1/users/christyotwisty 1. What I commit (or limit) to an hour per day I limit feeling sorry for myself to 15 mins/day no matter what happens. 10 mins of yoga before most shifts at hospital. I'm allowed a 27-min break per 12-hour shift. Try to take every shift; succeed half the time. 2. Have I met my elected representative? Did he address me by name? I've been to city council meetings in the small city where I live about getting our national passenger train company to restore service. The mayor knows my name and first daughter's name. Went to parish (county) council meetings in a state where I lived. Met Trump once. He didn't know my name. He said "Get that crazy lady out of here" about me. It took a long time to get me out of there. I'm working up nerve and skills to meet my state rep and senator about restoring passenger train service. Hopefully they'll know me by the end of the year. 3. Concert or music festival I wish I attended Wish we could see Holler Girl music festival in Rockcastle County, with Senora May headlining. Music festivals are expensive. Wish I saw Darrin Hacquard perform in my town. Back in time I'd see Nina Simone play Sinnerman or Etta James sing I'd Rather Go Blind. Dr. John in the '60s when he was still the Night Tripper. Wardell Quezergue's Creole Mass. 4. Dumbest thing someone ever lied to me about? I don't really count lies, and it's not very easy to lie to me. I get lied to at work by supervisors pretty regular. "We're hiring you for charge nurse on Unit 4. We'll put you there when it opens back up." "We aren't doing PRN shifts anymore." "We meet Friday after Handle with Care in my office." 5. How often I declutter electronic media and files I don't collect many. It's a once-in-a-while light duty. No cache of photos on my phone, but a couple times a year I delete text messages. I delete ebooks from my iPad once in a while. I tidy up my emails with different folders and rules once or twice a year. Most of what I write's here in my journal, already organized.
