I helped the people in the caaave, said first 
daughter. I helped them to not get lost in there.

It was cold in the cave, I said.

Yes, she said. It was cold in there. I'm shivering,
but that's okay. I like the cold a little bit.

When we came out we saw the sun and the trees, I
said.

The sun was bright bright bright, she said. It was
shining. It is so bright in my eyes. The trees eat
the sun that falls on their green leaves, but they
do not eat the sun that is bright on my eyes.

No, I said. They do not eat that sun.

They do not need to, first daughter said. There is
enough sun for everybody, I think.

Sometimes there is too much sun for me, I said, and
I have to go in the cave.

Yeah, said first daughter, and the bat goes in the
cave. He is shouting at everything, but he's sleepy
so he has to hang upside down a little bit and
close his eyes. And the worm goes down down down in
the ground.

You found a worm behind the ticket house, I said.

No! she protested. I found *two* worms. A big one
and a tiny one. The big one is the mama one and the 
tiny one is the baby one. And I found two moth
wings back there.

What happened to the moth's body? I asked.

The bat ate it, she said. The moth died, so it's
dead now. Forever. The bat was hungry, but he's
not hungry anymore.

What did you eat? I asked.

I just ate some beans and bread, she said. And mama
ate some beans and bread. The people ate beans and
bread also.

I was so sleepy after I helped the people in the
cave, I said.

I was sleepy also, said my daughter. I was soooo
sleepy. But that's okay. I sleeped in a tent. And
mama sleeped in a tent. We were camping in the
woods. And I *did* sleep enough in the woods.

I brushed my teeth a little bit and closed my eyes,
and I just listened to the toads and frogs.
