# Strings Attached - alfred's Gemini capsule For my nylon-strung guitars, I find D'Addario Pro Arte EJ-45 and EJ-46 strings serve me well. While they take a couple weeks to settle in (you have to re-tune a lot), they are reasonably priced, and they last long - IF you're fastidious about washing your hands before playing. They're in a sweet spot of price, performance, and longevity. Cheaper strings compromise too much on sound and longevity, and more expensive strings don't deliver commensurate benefits (for me). But a professional player told me he favored carbon strings because they don't require a break-in period - important for a performer. => gemlog.gmi Back to Gemlog contents Last edited: 2025-09-04
