# The Early Romantic Guitar - alfred's Gemini capsule As I worked my way through classical guitar etudes, I found that I really liked music from the Early Romantic period. For a time, I considered a period-correct guitar - one with a shorter scale, narrower neck, and significantly smaller body. I thought I might revel in sounding more "authentic". However, listening to some examples in videos, they sound tinny compared to a modern Torres design. My main guitar has a 615mm scale and 48mm nut, but the body is shaped like a Torres - just slightly scaled down. The meager span of my fingers drove this choice, not pretentiousness. => gemlog.gmi Back to Gemlog contents Last edited: 2025-09-24
