# End of 10 - alfred's Gemlog


When support for Windows 7 ended in early 2020, I moved to Linux. 

I'm amazed that anyone who 

a) has a choice, and 
b) values their privacy and security 

would continue to use Windows. But yesterday was to be the last day of support for Windows 10. Microsoft insisted it was entirely necessary - yet they have backed off for a year if you are willing to jump through some hoops for their benefit. Such as paying $30, or using their cloud with a Microsoft Account. 

Windows 10 users can use this reprieve to try / dual-boot Linux, and gradually migrate.
