07 Aug 2025 ------------ Tighinn Air A' Mhuir Am Fear A Phosas Mi A full Gaelic, or Gaidhlig, song by Capercaillie. The song's name is pretty straightforward... Tighinn - will come/coming Air - on A' mhuir - the sea Am fear - the man A phosas - marry Mi - me A man coming from the sea will marry me! The lyrics are as well not too hard to translate, but I have utmost respect to Gaelic speakers for being able to speak in the language fluently. I for one can't do that. I believe this is the limit of learning a language without chances to use it. This is again, if I understand correctly, a traditional Gaelic song. I didn't look for any explanation nor the background story of the song, so I have no idea why a beautiful blonde lad will be coming from the sea, nor any idea why he being a non-drinker is a nice thing. I guess it is some kind of metaphor to say the best is yet to come? I remember I first heard it by chance on Youtube. The melody just stuck in my brain and I couldn't stop humming it myself. A very captivating song and, a plus for me, good learning material of Gaelic! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
