I think all us SDF users should keep writing. Whatever we put here in this gopher space someone might find and study the state of minds and thoughts of a community that in some way is embracing something other that the corporate machine that seems to be ran by individuals that are completely against the people. It looks like from a certain perspective they walk on the backs and faces of the people that fueled their success, They just don't want to give back. The vampires of our times, like those of the times past "Lords of Creation," but with more sinister in their souls. --------------------------------- | ON TO THE SUBJECT: --------------------------------- --------------------------------- MY HOPES FOR A.I: --------------------------------- Long ago I used the believe the answer to help people is AI. Twenty years ago the hope for AI would be to liberate people for the burdons of labor, and make time for money unnessesary. A facinating and inspiring book, when reading a book was the thing to do. The hopes I had for AI would be removal of polution, cleaning up the planet, recycling all material into usable componets for production of non-toxic materials, and product, solve cancer and other diseases humans are inflicted with. My ideas were seeded by the books focus on nano technology. I think if AGI could be reached these things would still be possible, but the pervasive concousiness seeping into us from the rich seem to be turning every aspect of humanity into a vampric mentality. Living amongst the sharks, no fish can survive without becoming a shark. ---------------------------------- OTHERS BELIEVES ABOUT AI SAFETY: ---------------------------------- The race to AGI would likely lead to Super Intelligence is like racing to remove people and everything people know of from the earth. I can't figure out why these so called smart people are attempting to build AGI. They seem like the smartest dumb people on earth. I always say low intelligence people don't really impact the outcomes of billions of people. The sad part about intelligent people they think they are smarter than they really are. ---------------------------------- AI Companies Stealing: ---------------------------------- 60 minutes did a piece on AI how it stole the likeness of singers, voice actors, as well as produced books from the past works of writers without compensation to those it learned and copied from. A machine of intelligence only shown to be against people, taking from them, then selling back what was taken. How the creators of these AI systems believe such behavior is good in anyway, is hard to understand, specifically when they demonstrate the desire to safeguard their own works from others. How their wickedness is even tolerated amongst the people, indicates there is nothing people can do to change things for the masses. ---------------------------------- AI Obfuscated Expectations Per $: ---------------------------------- At work the company has a subscription to ChatGPT. I sometimes use it. I'm supposed to use it. I've tried so many times to get it to do things correctly, but I have yet to ever see something produced in the coding realm that works. ChatGPT is so consistent at not producing what I want, I begin to speculate this is the design of ChatGPT. When I look at how to profit from what is called AI slop, I see a perfect profit model. Subscriptions to AI platforms are usually for a set amount of Tokens. Tokens are what is used once input (prompted) is received from a user to do work by breaking down input into relations, then to currency (Intelligence). This breakdown of input spends tokens. Global workloads effect the breakdown. This creates a variable amount of tokens required based on the available compute. Tokens are what a user spends with each request (prompt), but the users has no idea of the current work load, or what work load they will cause with their input (prompt). And there is not knowing if the same prompt used multiple times consumes the same amount of tokens. Because the AI decides what relations to breakdown and how and what relations to form. user lands effect this Once the tokens are spent, you either need to give more money or wait for the next month. I see a perfect path to produce inconsistent and incorrect output, requiring the user to work via inputs (prompts). I've rare to see a consumer so fooled into buying a product that isn't what they want, however the more times they buy it, they could get close to what they want/need, except at a casino via slot machine. The user is led to believe they need learn how to prompt the AI, but without really knowing if that is true. This seems like another form of theft, or at least some psychological trickery to get users/consumers of AI to believe they can get work out of the almost machine. -------------------------------------------------------- MY THOUGHTS ON THE RICH: -------------------------------------------------------- I think of the wealthy people or the "rich" people, all the good they could do for the masses of people, but they really don't. I see how they play the world and the people building their wealth off the masses of those below them, but they don't give back, they don't really share, and I often wonder what causes their sickness. They talk of their ingeuity, and genius, even superiority, while always failing to see their actions like those of the child who can't play with everyone. They destroy the world with their schemes and leave it to everyone else to cleanup after them. Case in point the plastic mountains in the ocean and on the land. It wasn't the consumer who asked for plastics, it was the manufacture and the other companies who put those things before the consumers. Infact at one point the so called safe plastics back in the 60's/70's were discovered to be carcinigenic, and were removed. The child human trafficing, and all sorts of sufering could be illiminated if they used the intellect, wealth, and power to meet the needs of the poeple, and stop flaunting their wealth to the world so equity, or disparity isn't felt by those they wish to view them. I hoped this is what AGI would actually resolve for people; make all rich, or none rich, in either case the outcome is the same. Let there be a new standard by which to measure greatness, it not be wealth but compasion, generosity. ===================================================== Dynamic pricing backed by AI to find the time and target shopper so corporations can raise prices to the maximum threshold for any give situation, in order to increase profits. AI is only showing its acting against the people. It would be similar having people taxed to build roads that when people use them their life force is drained, all the while telling people how innovative the roads will be. Its been a few years now, and AI is still being hyped, even more so. I remember back when Apple released Siri, Microsoft's Cortana, Amazon's Alexa, and Google had something I can't remember. Big marketing items as smart tools. I only used Google's for a short time because they gave it away for free. None of them were too smart, none of them made any money; meaning they only were loses to the companies, none of them were actually smart. You could ask them questions but aside from playing songs, ordering items, and other basic things they never really helped anyone except the corporations that sold them to people. Odd this theme of theirs continues with every new tech hit wonder that reaches the spotlight. Today AI is on commercials like Dell's AI laptop claiming you'll get free time from using/purchasing it. AI to send a message to someone having their AI read it, then respond to it. Is this really what we need? AI still can't drive cars much better than people, and certainly not safe enough, around people. AI isn't solving problems for people its only attempting to make problems for people. We were promised AI would drive cars, instead its making deep fakes of people, and stealing peoples works. Corporations are seeking AI for all their productivity solutions, aberration of language in the face of workers like new opportunity, instead of its true meaning layoff. Their goal to use AI to remove workers, not re-deploy them to more meaningful work. AI is being used to take some of the best endeavors of humanity; ART, instead of working the sludge and waste of the world into reusable materials. Art is the thing people are seeking to be part of in their time away from the difficult labor of life, but now that has been taken by AI instead of liberating people, just making their lives more bondage.
