date: Tue 28 Apr 2026 10:13:36 PM PDT subj: twins 1st year doctor checkup -------------------------------------------------------- My babes you've gotten this far. Baby boy is at ninetieth percentile. Baby girl is at the thirtieth percentile. My son is not walking but he is standing while using walls, tables, mom and dad, and anything else to support himself. My daughter is doing the same thing. My son is walking a bit on his knees. Both are crawling at high speed now. They've both found their voice, and express their unsatisfactory opinions of their situations. For instance when I don't pick them up when they crawl or knee walk up to my legs, Ahhhh! is the choice of dissatisfied expression. This extends to my picking them up, but then not walking around. Same goes for if pick one of them up, then walk around, and decide I would like to sit down while holding them, expressions of unacceptable behavior on my part with a nice Ahhh! In my face, or my wife's. Toys are for throwing or ignoring, and ovens, radio music players, cords plugged into the wall, baby lotion, dirty diaper bags, furniture moving, removing baby blockades, toilet seats, breakable lamps, and just about everything you wouldn't want them to be interested in is far more interesting to them than the toys, and books, friends and relatives gave them. Even cat food pellets, are better than real food. I find it fascinating how little attention baby toys captivate babies, compared to everything that can break, and possible hurt them does. My son is great at ignoring his parents, when he is on his little mission to touch the oven, or radio knobs. My daughter is a lot more responsive to her name, and is a bit more into hanging out with people vs going off on an adventure into trouble, although she does like her share of doing stuff, I found she rarely has to be told not to touch the oven, or radio knobs. To each his own, from the start. :)
