Following agk's example, here are my answers to "four questions: tech" 1. When did you first get interested in technology? In the sense of what we generally mean by technology these days, I'd say that when my father got me an Amstrad CPC 464. That was an UK made Z80 computer with 64KBytes of RAM that came in one unit of keyboard, computer and tape "driver?", plus a detached monitor. We'd later upgrade it with some very nice and sturdy double disk drive and a text to speech generator. Yep, all with a Z80, that goblin knew many tricks. To be honest, when I went to Uni, the computer I got there, a PC compatible, looked like a downgrade in many respects. The main processor was faster, true, but the monitor screen was worse, the floppies were, well, really floppy, and no documentation. 2. What's your favorite technology? The Amstrad... 3. What's your current favorite? Hard to say these days, the terminal probably... though I love to CSS things up, and making words up. 4. Name cool tech we'll have in 25 years! Something that helps creative to gather and do good stuff together for the sake of doing good stuff together. 2025-04-17 09:02:47
