If you've been reading the Twigs series (this is book 5 or 6?) then you know what 
you're getting. It's another wonderfully told story of kids in trouble, mostly due to 
neglectful parents, and the adults (mostly Jack and Jenny) that step in to try to steer 
them in the right direction. This book calls back to the first book in the series, when 
Jack was the teen in trouble whose life was set on a better course by a caring older 
adult. This time Jack is connecting a caring older adult with a troubled teen.
