I posted a blog post today about gopher, so I guess I should also do a
phlog about, something. I've been retreating from the commercial web
slowly over the last couple of years. I killed my Twitter account when it
became a Nazi bar. I killed Instagram late last year because 90% of my
friemds were no longer using it, so it was pointless. I shut down my
Facebook account back in the Spring after I read Careless People, an
insider account of life at Facebook that shines a light on just how
depraved they are. Also, I was tired of my feed being 80% shit, and FB
constantly taking away features I used to work around the newsfeed.

I have not missed any of it. I was down to my blog, which I've been
maintaiing since before the word blog was invented, and Mastodon. And then
last weekend I got a wild hair up my ass after reading a blog post about
Gopher and knocked out this Gopher hole in a couple of hours.

I will say, there is something very freeing about just looking at a cursor
in Pico and starting to type.
