"Talk" Talk This being Jabber/XMPP issues. Gajim refuses to connect me. I did not remember my password. I reset my password. I uninstalled gajim. I installed dino-im (Ubuntu). Dino does not display OMEMO-encrypted messages from my buddies. I uninstall dino-im. I reinstall gajim as I see it is updated. The default Ubuntu repository does NOT have the updated gajim edition, to my regret. I install Pidgin. I see the plugins. I do not see lurch, the OMEMO plugin. I install it. Finding a Linux-flavour graphic XMPP client supporting OMEMO should not be hard. **** A Beautiful Thing I was told today, at Scrabble, by each of my three opponents, they always enjoy playing with me. I give them a good game and they learn things. I am friendly, supportive, calm, and congratulatory. My brain works in ways that are unusual. I try to be respectful of people's time. This does not endear me to everyone. I sometimes 'bingo out' (expend all seven letter tiles on my rack) as an endplay, and my strategy differs. Why this fosters hostility I do not know. Same with contract bridge. I have not been invited to complete a foursome although again, I am friendly, supportive, calm, polite, and congratulatory. My personal hygiene is average/normal. I practice online with robots, I read books, watch videos. Then I go to a club situation and some people are hostile. The director was my bridge class instructor for five weeks and she is among the hostile. She doubled a contract I knew I could make, and angrily told me I went too slow. I do not know the bridge club members, and thus I don't know what conventions they know of. I spent time learning the conventions (Stayman, Jacoby Transfer, Blackwood) then found that not all established bridge club members use them. It matters to me to know the members so I can be the best partner possible. I do not have time to interview my partners before play. No bridge video nor book says what to do when bridge members are hostile, nor how to speed up play without sacrificing accuracy. I placed my hand over each of the Scrabble player's hand and thanked them sincerely, that knowing some people find me refreshing and pleasant as an opponent. I offered a handicap, because for me it's about the socializing, and was rebuffed. This effusion of good feeling came about as an incident happened when I was absent, the hostile-to-me regular was hostile to another person who came only weekly. I know the regular is hostile to me as she never talks to me unless to be critical (like the bridge director) and never congratulates me on my super plays, but congratulates others for lesser plays. Instead of chatting with me she leaves the table and wanders about looking at the window and features of the room. I tell you my manners and hygiene are not the issue.
