My journey into the land of Free Software was a gradual one. I used windows for most of my life (And Ubuntu unknowningly) and the move to Linux absolutely blew my mind. Seeing the same interface across multiple computers really blinds you to what is actually going on in the computer. I didn't know you could change your desktop environment, I didn't know what a window manager was, I didn't know really anything. Then I had to connect to a Linux machine for schoolwork and it completely changed how I thought about computers. That was 4 years ago, and now I use FLOSS software almost exclusively. I believe it is the future and that it is necessary to ensure our digital freedoms.
