super-baby november 7th, 1999 this is where i will be recording Aisling's milestones (first learning to speak, crawling, walking, etc.) and other little tidbits about my little starfish! :) unfortunately, a lot of time has passed already, so i'll try to cover everything pretty quickly. she smiles almost all the time now, at people and sounds and music and pictures and lights and other such things that seem to amuse her...she also babbles, almost constantly, making such noises as "ah-goo" and "ee-ya" and stuff. i often set her in her little "bouncy chair," and she will sit and watch me do chores around the house. she watches my telecourses with me, but i don't think she appreciates them very much. :) she holds her head real steady now, and when she is put on her tummy she can even hold it up at about an eighty degree angle from the ground. she weighs close to thirteen pounds now. she can bring her hands together, as well. just recently she got her shots, and i must sit her and do my little mommy-bragging-about-her-baby bit... :) i was sooo dreading taking her to get these shots--i remembered how terrible they were for me when i was little. i was even less happy when i learned that she needed to get four vaccinations...ugh. so we played together a while in the waiting room and then she fell asleep, and when i brought her into the office, the nurse gave her one, two, three, four--Aisling woke up and fussed but not nearly as much as i was expecting. a minute later there she was, grinning really big at the nurse who had injected her! so the nurse tells me to get some children's tylenol and start giving it to her because she was going to get a fever and such...so i did. Aisling got no substantial fever--she fussed a little and slept for quite a few hours, and then she was absolutely fine! no swelling, no soreness, no staying up fussing all night--nothing! i was extremely impressed, and amazed, and just happy. so i've gotten in the habit of calling her "super-baby" now... :) she's one tough starfish!
