About me -------- I am a small web enthusiast who is currently working at a German university as a researcher. Unlike the vast majority in this space, I am not a technology guy, but a behavioral scientist. I am into self-hosting as a hobby, but my coding skills are limited to statistical programming in R and some basics in Python and bash. I used to self-host my gopher hole and gemini capsule too, but after restructuring my home lab, I no longer want to expose open ports to the public. sdf.org seemed like a good alternative because it offers gopher, gemini and finger. For now, I will focus on gopher. I am married and have two kids. To stay at least somewhat healthy, I work a couple of times a week at the gym. I also like to cook and recently started video games again. This space is meant as an escape pod from the WWW, which leaves me increasingly disgruntled and ceased to be a net force of good in the world in my opinion. Here, I would like to share what matters to me, while keeping the circle of potential readers limited and - most importantly - human. Contact I am on IRC (nick: dstar, network: tilde.chat). Or you can send me an email: dstar.educated178@passmail.com
