The following hacks from mods.greylogs.com were applied to v1.21b of GreyMatter to make v1.21c, or what we call, "Cow." [No cows were harmed in the release of this upgrade.] Bug Fixes --------- 1. {{weekdayshort}} / {{monthwordshort}} This bug fix ensures that the variables work as intended. Code provided by Rae [rae-AT-tnir.org]. 2. {{calendar}} This bug fix ensures that {{calendar}} calculates from the current date rather than the last archived entry, which brings the variable into compliance with how most users feel it should be run. Code provided by Cheryl [pixelsintim-AT-yahoo.com]. 3. {{militaryhour}} This bug fix corrects a typo that prevented {{militaryhour}} from outputting the proper time. Security Enhancements --------------------- 1. Encrypted passwords This code addition, created by Nyk Cowham [nyk-AT-forumone.com], provides encryption of passwords as stored in gm-authors.cgi. Previously, passwords were stored in cleartext, allowing those who could access gm-authors.cgi access to the site. For those upgrading to v1.21c from an older version, you will need to go to "Edit Authors" and re-enter or change your password for it to become encrypted. Feature Additions/New Variables ------------------------------- 1. {{linkblank}} This variable provides a way to provide links that open as new windows. It is used like the {{link}} variable is. Code provided by 2. xhtml-compliance This feature addition ensures that your GM-powered *log will be compliant with XHTML 1.0 Transitional. Code provided by Richard Foshee [foshdawg-AT-collegeclub.com]. 3. {{entrysubjectstripped}} This variable allows the use of HTML tags in the subject of an entry [such as the using tags to italicize the name of a book without having the HTML tags appear in the output. This is intended for use wherever you would wish to have the entry's subject stripped of HTML tags; for example, if you use My Site: "{{entrysubject}}" now in your templates, using My Site: "{{entrysubjectstripped}}" will prevernt the HTML tags from showing up in the header and looking unsightly.
