Starting up! =========== First up! I've been here for probably 5 years but when I first started my journey in the SDF never felt interested for gopher. Maybe it was because I always had web blogs and websites so I already planned to publish stuff in the html folder and stuff in Spanish elsewhere but now I think it's a good idea to take advantage of plain text alternatives. I'm a web developer so that explains it but I don't like to feel defined as such because I'm not a great programmer anyway and I like other things too. I live in Chile but I don't like to just identify myself as a native of a country (I love my country though). However, we're more than the parts that were there before us and condition our existence. I'm the sysadmin of texto-plano.xyz which is a small pubnix meant for the Spanish speaking community founded in the fundamentals of Unix and BSD. One day, Dennis Ritchie said: "Well, what we wanted to preserve was not just a good programming environment in which to do programming, but a system around which a community could form." And that community revolves around tools, most of which are terminal based (cli, tui). That inevitably brings up the idea of minimalism and plain text is the epitome of this and Gopher as a protocol makes it shine. So I'll be around and if there's anything more public that deserves to be also published for the mainstream it'll go to the html folder. Thanks for reading
