  The 10th was my birthday, and while I got nothing for it, I don't mind. After
all, the only things I'm really wanting right now are items I probably wouldn't
be getting anyway:

* K-TOR Power Box 50 pedal generator[0]
* Solar power setup (Panels and battery)
* Raspberry Pi 400 or 800 kit
* 1-2 low power portable 15" displays (Maybe the new Raspberry Pi display?)
* High-capacity SD and MicroSD cards for storage/archiving
* Low-energy lighting for my space

  Instead, I got one of my partners coming back home from visiting family, some
answers about my foot injury (which is /still/ healing), and a day of nearly
freezing tempuratures while I spent some time playing games in a /finally/
working RetroArch on my laptop. I also got myself a new water bottle, but only
because the previous one turned into a melted puddle of sadness after I put tea
into it that was still too hot. This one's a 64oz bottle, and I don't plan on
using it for anything but ice water and flavored water.

  Still, I'm 39... Bleh. That number stopped having meaning for me after 21.

  Sadly, due to my uncle's current health issues, I didn't get much of anything
done while my mate was on vacation, but my uncle and I took some time to be
lazy and just try to recover from said health issues: me with my foot, and him
with chemotherapy.

  Well, that's not entirely true. I got a little more work done on my personal
vimwikis, I've made progress in my Perl studies, and I started reading some of
the short stories from my backlog. I just didn't work on any of my own prose or
IF stories, and I didn't dive deeper into learning Inform7 like I'd been
planning on doing. At least my ancient little Kindle reader has been getting
some use lately.

  We'll see how things go for the rest of the month. There's so much out of my
control right now that I'm not sure if I should go ahead and write off December
as a lazy month, or hope that I'll have a chance to actually be productive. If
nothing else, I might be able to get more of the notes done for my stories and
game ideas.

  As an aside, I suddenly have a desire to build a foot-pedal powered fan for
myself. Don't know why, when I have a low-energy USB fan and a folding hand fan
literally a foot to the right of where I'm sitting. Maybe I'm just starved for
some DIY productivity, or something along those lines. This injury has had me
out of commission for /way/ too long, and it's definitely gotten to me a few
times at this point.

Maybe what I really need to do is make a custom folding hand fan for myself,
instead of something automated like that.
