First steps in Gopher

I have always been curious of old technologies, thinking that
maybe they declined not based on their merits only but also from
bad luck. I enjoy sifting through old manuals to get a better
understanding of how things were done before the technology we
have now made it easier to create and use computers.
I have been considering running a gopher server daemon on one of
my servers, but I'm quite happy to be now a (small) part of the
sdf community;).
