All right now, That's Rick Lane and The Wolf Pack Band playing "Out Of Sight Out Of Mind" from their new CD, "On The Prowl". Kicking us off we heard "Singing The Love Sick Blues" and then one I recorded at the Craighead Forest Bandshell, "Polk Salad Annie".

Joe Lee was Rick Lane's band director in Trumann, Arkansas. Joe was a jazz man and not everybody knows that he was also a force at the beginning of Rock and Roll. Here's Joe Lee singing a rocking song he wrote called "Ethel Mae", recorded at Fernwood in Memphis and featuring Bill Black on bass and Scotty Moore on guitar

Oh yeah, that's Zyndall Raney doing "Who Will The Next Fool Be" from his CD "Last Date". Zyndall and his son, Joe, run the Raney Recording Studio in Drasco, Arkansas, where The Wolf Pack Band recorded "On The Prowl".

Now that's what I'm talking about, It's Jazz Alliance doing a Ron Horton song, "Blues In A Hurry". Before that we heard "Monkey Walk" from the new NJHB CD, "Cookin' With Piper". Both Jazz Alliance and NJHB are scheduled to play at KASU Jazz Thursday later this year. And NJHB is the house band for my other monthly jazz event at TheArtsAt311. On the first Saturday each month we host New Jazz In Jonesboro.
