## 14 Geopolitics Last week, I have released the last post about geopolitics, Geopololitiko 8. It was about Trump, USA, Venezuea, Iran...Geopolitics is a hobby for me. I'm interested in that subject since my teenage years. Not that a particular teacher had a special place for that. It's just that I always loved books about history and geography, atlas, and travel journals/books. Is it beacause I have read some Jules Verne books or other adventures ? I don't know but it's like that. I read many newspapers and magazines about the world politics, etc... for years, decades. This hobby is becoming less important. I'm no longer a subscriber to the "Monde Diplomatique", former French reference for that subject. It's not as interesting anymore, with a more ideological drift than before, even if it aligns with my political views. What I find interesting in Geopolitics is to learn from the other's mindset. I'm no longer a subscriber to "Courrier International", a news magazine which translates other newspapers. Some of the people I liked in this Journal have gone and It's not so useful for me. But I keep some RSS feed from many newspapers in the worls, from Asia to South America or Africa, very few in USA, Europe, because of that damned Ethnocentrism. 8 numbers of my Geopolitics series on the French blog and a lot of work behind that. But I must confess that I'm not competent enough to do more. Perhaps one more post and it will be the end. The world is changing and with Trump and other dictators/leaders, it's more and more difficult to understand something. I think more about the people than their most insane and obtuse leaders. We are not talking about Iranians, Venezuelians, Palestinians, Sudaneses etc... in the News. Victims are not even figures and numbers. It's more and more difficult to have good informations about the root causes of wars, about the risks, the stakes, ... And I'm not interested to look after that. I have the feeling that some of the great specialists of Geopolitics I admire, are no longer interested in. They are reposting some advices, they are writing less posts, less books. We're all growing old in this chaotic world. I don't know what will be the next (last?) subject for Geopolitiko 9. I wrote 2 or 3 posts per year. Once more for 2026...Perhaps a summary or an assessement. Or a country that people have forgotten ? I had done that with eastern Africa, last year. I have made a post about ressources in Africa, talking about RDC, Rwanda, ...It's still a subject and modern colonialism has a lot to do with this. For the moment, the passion is fading a bit. But you know how I am...It's a matter of cycles. I will find another way, other people to follow/read, and who knows in 6 or 9 months? 2DÉ› => mailto:icemanfr@sdf.org Comments by mail or by a reply on your blog
