Pen and paper ============= ...not the e-paper. Well, I have been extended use of old good hardware tools. While I use my phone and computer to manage my calendar I don't like to use digital things to make quick notes and to manage my tasks. For the calendar: I use the NextCloud provided by my employer so I can connect to it from almost any device I use. So I can review or insert the calendar events even on my phone (the Sony Xperia with A*****d) which is handy during various meetings. Then I'm able to convert the calendar to the Remind format which can be used on almost anything (the Remind still works even on old SGIs). And, of course, I can use the WWW interface to the calendar or see it in the Thunderbird, if needed. I used to use the Remind directly but this is not feasible now. But the other tasks are more complicated - I do not like to enter the meeting notes into the phone and I often don't carry any bigger device. The Zauri and other machines with small keyboards are now out of the question as my eyes are not good enough (their batteries also have some limitations...). Thus I have bought a new diary (a neat leather notepad, actually) with replaceable inserts and have returned my Kayu pen to the full use (I actually have two of them - one is always in my office and the second one is being used outside). The paper works in any conditions, no batteries are needed. The pen sometimes need to be filled with ink but it is still easier to lend a pen (if necessary) than a phone. Also, the notepad can be used to store other needed documents (like printed train tickets, maps, invitation letters which have to be shown on some places).
