Fairphone ========= I broke the display of my Android phone some time ago (I have to use the Andorid - or an iOS - due to some apps). I firs searched for the same phone as it was a Sony Xperia and it was a rather good device. Surprisingly - prices are on the same level as they were when I got my Sony some years ago. The battery is not user-replaceable so I was a bit unsure about that. Also the OS is old. So I have decided to got a new device. But which one? I finally have decided to get the Fairphone 5. They declare OS support up to 2031 which sound good. And they phone is somewhat modular so the most critical parts can de easily replace. Unfortunately, I have tested that as I have broke the display of my new phone just 5 days after I have got it... Otherwise, it's a nice machine. Nothing special but nice. The only thing I don't like is a lack of the audio connector. So I have had to got a USB-C to audio adapter. I works well. Battery life seems to be shorter that it was on the old Xperia (which is smaller device with smaller screen) but good enough. It looks like I have updated my stuff to pretty moder devices during last few years (with the Linux everywhere if one counts the Android as a Linux): - Fairphone 5 (phone) - MNT Pocket Reform (minilaptop) - MNT Reform with RCORE CPU (laptop/desktop replacement) - Raptor Blackibrid (OpenPOWER workstation) Written on the SGI O2. Of course.
