KB3NTT, a Journal Johnathan Mayo's adventures of ham radio. -- Tuesday, August 15, 2006: Today I went to the K3PZN meeting, there was a pretty interesting discussion on packet radios and TNC. No elmers, but we did meet some people. The one person we talked to said he started out on a HT radio, so that's what we decided to do. We're looking into the Icom IC-W32A, but there don't seem to be many places to buy it online. It will probaby happen though, my dad seems very optimistic. I think I might be able to convince him to take me to another hamfest to pick up a TNC, definitly a traditional RS-232 one so I can use it with Linux and the like. The Mason-Dixon hamfest is soon, maybe there. 73, KB3NTT. This file is also available at: http://jmayo.freeshell.org/hamradio/20060815.html Copyright 2006 Johnathan Mayo, KB3NTT
